So last week I'm in the middle of doing something with my computer which calls for it to make sounds of some form (which is pretty much anything I do at all with it) when I heard a soft *pop* and the sound went dead. I assumed that the speakers had blown after over five years of life and went online to order some new ones that I just now installed.
The new ones, however, weren't playing music despite being totally hooked up. I checked the computer volume controls and found that the volume was all the way down. I turned it up and music came out. Was that the problem the entire time? I don't think so, as it's unlikely that the computer would, all on its own, turn the volume down in the middle of a song.
Still, it was definitely a nice "I'm an idiot" moment.
