It's been a while...
...and I even forgot to post this link for Thanksgiving. Enjoy.
Life is busy and stressful now. I'm always behind with my schoolwork, my cash flow is about to be interrupted, the poker swings are cruel, and BOATUIP, which started as a clever in-joke among my group (Bend Over And Take It Up the Poop) is now my mantra. Let it never be said that this grad school thing is simple or easy (and this is just the first semester!).
As far as the cash flow thing goes, my funding is going to be interrupted for a paycheck in December because of some administrative issues that they're going through. On top of that already sucking hard, it's Christmas, which requires more money than usual, and I have to pay my student fees. The funding is nice, but it doesn't cover the fees, which amount to more than a rent payment, so it's going to be a rough month. I can't figure out how I'm going to get all the money, short of dipping into my savings again and/or selling my ass on the corner. The jury is still out on which one I'd rather do.
Poker is actually not being that cruel, but I hesitate to dip into the bankroll at all, lest it go too low and vanish and I no longer have the funds to play with. I keep all of the money that I play with separate from the rest of my money to track my progress. If I take too much of it to pay bills with, the bankroll that remains won't be able to endure any bad luck at all, which is a recipe for failure.
And it's time to go hold my office hour. I'm sure I'll see you all again in a few months...
