maggie's recovery is like lightning. her leg was only ever a little bit swollen and now it's mostly normal - it's not even red around the staples. her gait is good and she's using the leg at about 75%. this morning, we walked around the island, and then up and down the street. she would like to walk farther, she says. knee what? what surgery ( Read more... )

maggie just jumped on the bed. our bed is kind of high and is level with the top of her head if she's sitting on the floor. if she doesn't feel like she can make it, she'll just stand there and whine 'til someone helps her up. jef was in the room folding laundry and the next thing he knew, there was maggie on the bed. she didn't have any tramadol ( Read more... )

after a night full of tossing and turning and the inability to get comfortable (but sleeping in bed at home is probably easier than sleeping in the hospital, surrounded by crying dogs and unfamiliarity), maggie is feeling better this morning. her staples look great! she's able to manage the stairs more or less pretty well with some assistance. she' ( Read more... )
