Domesticity abounds

Well, here is another post weekend report. Last week was full of witchy, pagan things and it felt wonderful. There were evenings of gatherings for Samhain and it just kept getting better and better. Even my own work was strong and clear. This will likely be an intense dark season - given the introspection I intend and the issue I must address - but that's all okay.

So, this past weekend was good. I met to celebrate on Friday. That went late into the night and was so cool. Yorble stayed up late and greeted us when we came back from 'the other side'. He'd prepared a buffet of desserts and other nibbles. We sat around and chatted and 'came down' and just enjoyed the afterglow.

Saturday was a day for visiting. Got to sleep in and then headed off to see Yorble's dad. His father is coming into his own, finally. It has been a year since Yorble's mom died and it has taken this long for his dad to relax and start to enjoy things again. No one fully realized what a toll her care took on his health. That is just the way of it though.

Anyway, after that visit, I went to see a good friend. We did a little discount shopping. We were after bulk foods and yarn - what a combination!! I finally found a reasonable replacement for the Egyptian Musk that I've been using for years. I was so close to the end of it, I was upset that there was no more available. Finally, I found something not too sweet with a comparable spiciness to it. This I can wear!!!

Sunday was a relaxed but not lazy day. I did loads and loads of laundry and chatted with one of my sis-in-laws while doing it. Even better, I spoke with my sister (yea!) and got good news. The leukemia is moving very slowly!! She no longer has to get blood work weekly. She moves to bi-weekly and then monthly if all goes well. Also, she is nearly 1 year breast cancer-free!! Woohoo!

A load of mending was accomplished also. As much as I love needlework, I am not so fond of mending! I don't know why - maybe because the product isn't a new thing. I did some of Yorble's things and some of my own.

So, that was it - loads of little stuff done. I suppose that's fine since last week was just crazy, wonderful - it was time for some quiet, down time.

samhain, weekend
