Was trying to call my parents but had no dial tone. Then realized I had the TV remote pressed to my ear
Also my bad leg is being weird today. Around 2 pm it started hurting in the calf like a muscle strain and moving the foot (i.e. activating the muscle) makes it worse. Not sure what I did to it but it's on my last nerve
I did manage to get some of the kitchen area cleaned and got a laugh. Mom and I bought a silent butler/broom combo back in July, for outside (on the broom) and the butler for the kitchen. Well we thought the broom was IN the butler but it was on top. It's so small as a broom, a kid could use it.
There is some stuff at work going on that I wish I could talk about but I can't. It's really making the entire faculty unhappy. I don't know how I'm making another 12 years in this job. I really don't.
I'll BBL with my snippet and word count. And thanks to those of you who have commented on the snippets, that has cheered me.
Snippet (the monster has been defeated and they're going into the Chi frat house but Laura has left being a bit high handed)
“No need to thank us. You’re rad, always are,” Alessia assured him.
“You too, Al.” He slipped an arm around her waist, tugging her against him. His long black hair tickled her cheek. Dan wanted to have hair band hair but his hair wasn’t having any of it. He reached out and took Grace’s hand.
“I don’t know what she’s always so bogus when it comes to you,” Grace gave his hand a squeeze.
“She wanted to be stationed at Pitt. She thinks Broadhaven is beneath her.” Alessia rolled her eyes. “I’d rather have a pretty campus to urban sardine cans any day. It’s not as if we’re wasting away out here with nothing to battle. Witness one dangerous water spirit.”
“I don’t let it bother me.”
Alessia let Dan lie because he needed to. It bothered him but what would the truth get him? Not much. They slipped inside the basement, immediately swallowed up by the clueless crowd. Eddie Murphy’s Party All the Time swept over them, the music so loud Alessia’s bones rattled. Dan might be slender like a reed but he was also over six foot so she and Grace propelled him forward like a cowcatcher to get to the keg. A bleary-eyed brother poured them red Solo glasses of beer.
