Sadly it didn't work out so smoothly - "C" "wurde platt gemacht" = Windows 7 had to be reinstalled. So only the basic programs are there, I have to install the rest. Including the Library Software from my ereader. The Firefox is now the basic one without add-ons. Thankfully, X-Marks still works so when I've got it again I've got my bookmarks back ( Read more... )

I'm going get my PC upgraded to Windows 7 on Saturday = that should make me able to run my old programs, hopefully! We'll see what won't work. I'm getting a bigger hard drive too.
And I'm crossing my fingers very hard that it will possible to switch over without totally install everything new. *sigh*

*waves* My PC died today;hope to get it back (and fixed) by Saturday *fingers crossed hard*). I can't log in with my old one, only with my Smartphone. Hopefully it's only the power supply.

Well - I'm here. I wanted to do it a long time so on August at last I asked my provider about the Internet speed because mine is slow. Turns out it was DLS 2000. They said they could switch me to another line so I'll have DSL 6000. ( read on )

As I said on May 7th something was wrong when my PC was booting, giving me a black screen way too long but when pushing the on-button the normal screen was back. I decided for a new monitor screen (Flachbildschirm). Though the salesperson said it could be the graphic board even if it is a new one (July 2010) but yay - everything is back to normal ( Read more... )

PC: I re-installed the back-up software on Friday that pointed out the error and now the error is gone. Though I had to do the new back-up manually today because I used the wrong time. *g*
So for the future I'll try to remember:

• Use Scandisc from time to time - even new harddrives can get bad clusters that's why they get smaller
