As for cashing your check, do you have a bank account at a bank that has a local branch? They are usually very understanding about the lack of photo ID *if* you already have an account with them. You could also see if your employer is willing to void your check and pay you in cash.

Yes. When I lost my wallet at the end of Libertycon `06 (we were about 10 minutes away from the Knoxville airport, which is roughly a 2-hour drive from Chattanooga, when I realized I didn't have it; a return trip would have been about 4 hours, flight left in 2.5), the TSA was remarkably good about letting me in.
