OOC

I realized this morning during a particularly unpleasant bus trip that how I see this Near has a good deal to do with this song. For those that don't know Buffalo Springfield, they're most famous for 'For What it's Worth,' as featured in that movie with Nicholas Cage and all the guns, and parodied in Clone High when Abe Lincoln is falling out of ( Read more... )

Yeah, but I'm not sure if A really has it in him to insult one of the few people that he considers a friend. *shrugs* If anything, he'll just leave. He doesn't know his limits all that well, but he'll be able to just remove himself from the situation if he needs to--he's sort of a runner. XP

OH NOES!!! God, just thinking about that one gives me shivers. I'm not a huge horror person, either--I have a WAY over-active imagination, and I'm just about as paranoid as A (one of my biggest phobias is people hiding in trees and aiming sniper rifles at my head. I'm not even kidding.). So, I've only seen like, three actual 'horror' films in my life.

And look. Now you made him get all emo. *pokes emo A* XDD

I'm a HUGE horror person. Especially zombies. (MWAHAHA.) But I saw the Ring when I was way too young for it and it scared the living daylights out of me, so re-watching it again is making me remember that terror.

XP. I think the Mummy ruined Horror for me. I saw it when I was like, nine. But the three that still make me freak out when I think of them are--The Ring, Silent Hill, and the Omen. The Omen actually wasn't all that bad...

But I love mock-horror films--Sean of the Dead and Hot Fuzz and the like. Gore is fine, as long as the psychological stuff isn't there, and vice versa. But the two of them together... eh~

Silent Hill was... shy on concept, FABULOUS for imagery, but a bit high on the sexualization of violence, which I kind of don't much care for in movies.

Have you seen Fido, then? There's a zombie invasion, the world wins, and then evolve into Stepford-Wife style little POCKETS of humanity, where Timmy's pet zombie Fido is going to have to be put down for biting a human. Better than Shawn of the Dead, in my opinion.

I actually saw Silen Hill three times, and I realized--the more you see a horror movie, the less scary it is while you're watching it, and the more scary it is afterwards.

I've heard of Fido, but I don't have the luck of having it in my collection, and I can't find it anywhere.

I fear the boys are delving into yaoi territory... Stupid clingy A.

This is true. I'm not so scared of the Ring this time... mostly because the Romantic Lead Male is the actor who I use as the played-by for Edmund the Bastard, from King Lear, who I control else-game. So I'm watching it with a snarky, Shakespearean side-commentary on how STUPID everything in the film is and ghosts can only speak LATIN, why are these people trying to talk to her? It's distracting.

Also, ahahaa. That would make me laugh so hard. And would startle Near so badly...

Poor Near, then. Poor, poor Near.

And NICE. I suppose that would help ease the ARGH-ness of it. XD But knowing me, I'd still end up behind the couch.

Hahahaaaa. He will FALL DOWN when he figures it out.

It does help. But I may still be sleeping with the lights on tonight.

XDDDD That thought totally made me giggle.

SOAP OPERA SCENE!!
A(in a burst of OoC): I won't be with B anymore... I'll be with YOU.
*flowers swirl around them, and the air is sweet with the nectar of budding love*
N: *FALLS DOWN*

I almost fell down myself laughing at the prospect.

You know what helps me, but is totally cheesy in every way, shape and form? After just about every horror movie, I HAVE to watch or read The Princess Bride. One of my guilty secret-favorite-movie/book-of-all-time. Right next to Sin City XD. But PB calms me down hardcore, and I don't have AS many nightmares...

Falls down, and shouts 'YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT SEX? You're a suicide-risk. Aren't you only supposed to think about crows and and and bad poetry? Wait, you're thinking about sex with ME? You're completely crazy.

Actually, he'd probably just go beet red and go talk to Mihael, who Knows Everything.

Princess Bride is SO CUTE! We need a fireswamp room.

I laughed so hard I think I killed my computer. And he's not THAT emo... I hope XP. That would be so cute though. But for some reason, I suspect he'd get the wrong impression from Mihael...

And... HOMFG THAT WOULD BE SO FUCKING AMAZING!!!! Fireswamp room=win.

Have you read the book? 'Cause if so, I think a Zoo of Death room would be AWESOME as well. *dies hardcore*

He's not. Near is just undiplomatic when he's startled, bless him. And maybe Mihael might be the wrong source... but not like Near's much better? He does quite like A, possibly a teensy bit that way, but is probably going to continue to handle talking to him very poorly.

We have a Jurassic Park room post up. Near is in there, and his first reaction was 'FUCK IT, I'M LETTING THEM EAT ME.'

I haven't read the book, just seen the movie. *needs to change this, obviously.*

Heh. Agreed, and I highly doubt that A would be emotionally ready for a real relationship anyway. B's just sort of... an odd circumstance thusfar. And besides, he likes Near well enough as a friend, he's just not used to people getting close physically, and when they do, the poor guy gets sort of confused. (Since, of course, he associates closeness with romance due to learning most of his from nonfiction books, where everything is ALWAYS overplayed and a hug is secret for 'I-wanna-do-you-right-now. XD ( ... )

No, and Near has barely any social experience. I can see him, maybe, almost, sort of (at some point down the line) taking the initiative and kissing A, and maybe consenting to necking a little, but not much more than in a kind of fumbly teenagers-behind-the-bleachers way. Which would be cute, cause they both missed out on that sort of thing, but no Serious Relationships (they're both far too nuts.)

...wait, princess bride, nonfiction? *blinks* But there are no such thing as ROUS's. *afraid now*

And yes, yes, maybe avoiding it is best. I just like playing pissy!Near, so I had to send him in.
