Ever since Papa Palheta opened, I've been taking short strolls to get my caffeine fix. It has morphed me into a coffee snob with cravings kicking in at regular intervals. Thankfully, my wish has been granted by the many emerging coffee joints over the past few months. Singapore finally has good coffee!
I've been meaning to try out the different coffee places, many of which shy away from crowded public arenas. But that's the beauty of it, because there's something really satisfying and exciting about making a new cafe discovery. My friend Pam loves a good coffee and Part One of the coffee hunt takes us to The Plain a newly opened Aussie Style cafe.
The aroma of good coffee hit us even before we saw the place. When we reached the cafe, it was packed with the lunch time crowd, probably executives from the nearby offices. Although it is a simple cafe in most aspects, the layout, interior design and even the not very extensive menu, it is a great place to just hang out and chill. And if you love your eggs poached, this is the place to go.
Skinny Cappuccino - Smooth, creamy with the right hint of bitterness
Darling's Eggs, perfectly poached
Lunch crowd at The Plain
Small selection of Sandwiches
The plain is a warm friendly cafe, tucked away in a snug little neighbourhood near Tanjong Pagar. If I could, I would sit there and chat the afternoon away.
