Synopsis: “Do you like bubbles, Toshi?” The little boy nodded and pulled his hands apart to clap, sending bubbles flying. “Maybe some day I’ll show you how to blow bubbles with your hands.” The blonde beamed and instructed Toshi to wash his hands off. Once done, Toshi was standing and Uruha was drying his hands with a towel. Motherly; that’s what Uruha was. It made so much sense! He was pretty and cute like a girl, and he was really nice. Uruha was like a mommy. He could be Toshi’s mommy, since he didn’t really have one.
Comment: At the end.

“Mommy, where’s Oniisan?” Toshi had asked the same question every day as he sat on Uruha’s couch with Kai-chan beside him and a bowl of candy on his lap. The past month had been hectic, but he didn’t understand what was going on around him. All the adults spoke quietly when he was in the room, especially Aoi, and he had a strange feeling that they were talking about him. Maybe he had done something wrong, or maybe it was close to his birthday and they were planning a party, except it wasn’t close to his birthday at all and Toshi was utterly confused.

During the day Aoi would be gone. In the mornings he would wake up and make breakfast for Toshi, but he would leave before the child could finish eating. Toshi didn’t mind too much because he liked spending time with Mommy, and he liked when he and Aoi stayed the night with him, but it got boring after awhile. Uruha was only fun for so long, and sometimes he just wanted to play with his brother. All day he sat with Uruha alone; Doki didn’t even come over because he had school and too much homework. The rest of the guys didn’t show up until after Aoi got back, and that was no fun.

Uruha turned around and smiled from the kitchen. “Aoi-chan had some work to do, but he’ll be back in a bit.” He smiled and walked into the room with a sippy cup of juice and handed it to the boy.

“But Oniisan’s gones alls times.” The child pouted and sipped his juice. It wasn’t fair that Aoi wasn’t with him. He was never too far away from his brother, and he didn’t like when he was. The past month had been weird because he spend more time with Kai’s mommy than he usually did. Toshi liked Mrs. Uke a lot, but he didn’t understand why he couldn’t go to work with Aoi anymore. He sat in Mrs. Uke’s living room while she tried to keep him entertained. Most of the time she let him color in coloring books that were aimed towards little girls instead of little boys, and sometimes they went in the kitchen and cooked or baked together. She even showed Toshi how to make bread with pandas on every slice. Even though he had fun with her and liked her, he still wanted to go to work with Aoi like he always did.

Uruha sighed and sat down, moving the bowl of candy and pulling the child onto his lap. It wasn’t right that Toshi knew nothing about what was going on around him. If it wasn’t for the fact Aoi didn’t want him to know, Uruha would tell him everything. Aoi said Toshi didn’t need to know anything because he didn’t have to speak to the judge, something Uruha thought was odd. It wasn’t right that Toshi was kept in the dark.

“I know honey, but maybe Aoi will tell you later when he isn’t so stressed out. Until then you get to spend time with me.” He ran his fingers through the little boy’s hair and bounced him on his knee slightly. Toshi put a finger in his mouth and giggled, looking up at the blonde with a smile. At least Mommy was interesting and played with him, so it wasn’t so bad that he spent the day with him.

Uruha smiled and stood up and settled the little boy on his hip. He picked up the bowl of candy and sat it in the kitchen before walking to the door and putting on his shoes and helping Toshi into his. After grabbing their jackets, he opened the door and carried the little boy out. Sitting around the house for another day would just be boring to both of them, so maybe a nice day at the park would be better. It was a nice day out, and Toshi would probably be one of the few kids at the park on a weekday.

Toshi wiggled his way down from the blonde’s hold and walked beside him, clutching his hand. As they walked, he pointed at squirrels and birds and talked about Yutaka and how the puppy wasn’t allowed to sleep in his bed anymore because Oniisan said so. He rambled mindlessly and Uruha simply listened and held his little hand.

They arrived at a small park where only two other little kids were playing on the swing set. “Mommy, we’s plays on the swide?” Toshi smiled sweetly and pointed his little index finger at the slide. With a nod, Uruha followed the little boy and all the impatient tugs of his hand and waited for him to climb up the slide before climbing up himself.

Uruha placed Toshi on his lap once at the top and wrapped an arm around his little waist before pushing himself and sliding down the long slide. Toshi giggled happily, placing his hands on the older man’s arms and wiggling his feet. He didn’t go to the park often because of all the fans that Aoi attracted, and he partially wonder why there weren’t girls all over wanting Mommy’s attention too. He didn’t mind, though, because all the girls made him shy and scared, and he always wanted to go home. Even though he wasn’t enjoying the park with Aoi, he was still having fun.

“Agains!”

Uruha smiled and climbed the slide once more and slid down, and every time they reached the bottom Toshi would ask to go again. With a small smile, Uruha continuously slid down the slide until Toshi wanted to play on something else.

By the time two hours had passed, Toshi was holding his arms up and yawning softly and if it weren’t for the fact Uruha was an adult and there was no one older there with him, he’d be doing the same thing. He bent down and picked the little boy up and carried him back down the sidewalk toward his home.

Toshi rested his head on the blonde’s shoulder and slowly drifted off to sleep as the sound of Uruha’s cell phone ringing floated through the air. Reaching into his pocket, Uruha pulled out his phone and flipped it open. “Moshi Moshi~”

“Kouyou, I’m on my way to your house. I was thinking we could go out for dinner since I haven’t been around too much.” Uruha smiled and looked down at Toshi; going out would be nice, especially since neither he or Toshi had been able to spend time with Aoi.

“Toshi just fell asleep, so how about you rest for a bit before we eat?” He walked up to his home and pulled his key out, balancing the phone between his shoulder and his ear as he unlocked the door.

Walking in, he toed off his shoes and carried Toshi to his bedroom, placing him on the bed and taking off his little shoes. “That might be a good idea. I didn’t get much sleep last night, and I’m stressed and exhausted today. All I want to do is eat and sleep.” Aoi sighed on the other end of the phone as Uruha draped a blanket over Toshi’s sleeping form.

“When you get here, you can sleep in my room with Toshi. I have a few errands to run anyways. By the time I come back, the two of you should be rested enough to go out and eat.” He smiled and left his room, tidying up his house so it would be clean when Aoi arrived. The last thing Aoi needed after a stressful day was to come over and see Uruha’s living room a mess with juice boxes Toshi had failed to put in the trash.

On the other end of the phone, Aoi rattled off about the damn stoplights and pedestrians getting in his way, before Uruha could even get a word in, the guitarist was walking though the door. He kicked off his shoes and hung up his jacket, and with a lazy wave at the blonde, he stalked off toward the bedroom, clearly too tired to do much of anything else.

“Has he been good?” The older man laid down on the bed and pulled the blanket closer to Toshi. The little boy usually wasn’t a problem for Uruha, but Aoi always liked to make sure he wasn’t causing problems for anyone. Toshi knew better than to make trouble, so Aoi wasn’t surprised when Uruha said the little boy had been perfectly well-behaved like usual, which was good because he really didn’t have it in him to give Toshi a talk if he had been bad.

“You know Toshi is always on his best behavior when I’m watching him.” Uruha smiles, brushing the little boy’s hair out of his face. The only time Toshi wasn’t nice to him was if he needed a nap or was woken up from a nap too soon and became fussy. Usually he was sweet and did as he was told, which Uruha was thankful for because he didn’t think he had the energy to put up with a rotten child while he had so much on his mind.

Aoi nodded and shifted on the bed, turning to his side to look at his brother. His little mouth was open with a thumb carelessly hanging out, and his head was turned to his right as he laid comfortably on his back. If Aoi was close enough he would have been able to hear him breathing.

The older man smiled and kissed the boy’s forehead, pulling him close and wrapping an arm around him almost protectively. After the day he had, he felt as if he had to be protective. The only good outcome with the day was the good feeling he had about winning the case because surely no one would side with someone as out of their mind as Kaeda. Toshi wouldn’t be safe with her, and he made that point clear. Kaeda, however, wasn’t pleased.

Uruha made his way out of the room to attend to his aforementioned errands, and Aoi slowly fell asleep.

---

Aoi looked down from the corner of his eye as a little hand made it’s way to his plate. The fingers spread out over a piece of sushi and closed over it before the hand was swiftly retracted. Toshi looked up at his brother as he slipped the food in his mouth and smiled sweetly, almost as if he hadn’t done a thing. Aoi chuckled to himself and pretended as if he didn’t see anything.

Toshi didn’t want to sit in his own seat in front of his plate; he wanted to sit on Aoi’s lap and eat off his plate even though he had ordered the same thing as his brother. He looked up at Aoi to make sure he was busy talking to Uruha, and quietly took his food without realizing Aoi would take something off Toshi’s plate every time Toshi took something off his.

The little boy giggled as he reached for Aoi’s food again and Uruha looked at him with a smirk. “Toshi, you have the same thing as him. Why are you eating his food?” The blonde reached over and poked the boy on the nose. Toshi giggled and covered his mouth, looking up at Aoi and back at Uruha again.

“I no wanties mine. I wanties Oniisan’s.” Toshi spoke through his fingers, giggling and looking up again.

“But it’s the same thing.” Uruha chuckled and proceeded to eat his own food. He smiled as Toshi shook his head grabbed more food off Aoi’s plate, not caring that the older man was looking.

“Not uhs~ Oniisan’s diffints.” He placed the food in his mouth and chewed, snapping his fingers and wiggling his hips as he ate.

Aoi chuckled, picking up a piece of sushi off Toshi’s plate and popping it in his mouth. “The only difference is your plate has more food on it than mine since you keep eating mine.” He tapped the boy’s nose with his chopsticks.

Toshi frowned, glaring up at his brother. “You’s no eaties my sushi, Oniisan!” He put his hands on his hips before reaching up to pry his brother’s mouth open.

“But you were eating mine, so I get to eat yours.”

Toshi shook his head, making his hair fly around his head. “Not uhs! Mommy, you’s tells heem he no louds to eaties my sushi.” He pouted at the blonde who only laughed in returned and told him that Aoi was right and there was nothing he could do about it. Toshi frowned and glared up at his brother, moving to sit on his knees on Aoi’s lap.

“What are you doing?” Aoi raised an eyebrow as Toshi looked at him with his signature mad face and shoved his face in Aoi’s plate. The older man rolled his eyes and ate off Toshi’s plate with a shrug.

Uruha rolled his eyes and reached across the table, making Toshi sit up straight again. He grabbed a napkin and began cleaning off the boy’s face while shaking his head and muttering.

Toshi scrunched up his face and tried turning away when Uruha held his head in place. “Mommy, you’s no cleanies me.”

“Hush.” Uruha continued to clean his face. “If you don’t want to be cleaned, don’t shove your face in the food.” Toshi whined, gripping Uruha’s wrist and trying to pull his hand away from his face.

Uruha finished cleaning his face and moved to sit comfortably in his seat again. “Don’t make a mess again.” He gave the boy a pointed look and began eating again. Toshi huffed and crossed his arms over his chest while the adults finished eating and paid the bill.

Aoi helped his brother into his jacket and stood up, balancing him on his hip as he and Uruha made their way back to the car. After Toshi was placed in his car seat with Kai-chan clutched against his chest and Aoi and Uruha buckled their seatbelts, Aoi started the car and began driving to his house.

Once arriving home, Aoi helped Toshi get ready for bed and wandered back in the living room. He plopped down on the couch and laid his head on Uruha’s lap and sighed softly. He was exhausted and the case wasn’t even over yet, but he still had a good feeling.

“I think I’ll win.” He smiled, looking up at Uruha. “I could tell the judge was disgusted when I told him about how I grew up with her, and the way she reacted only made him more disgusted.”

Uruha smiled, playing with the other’s hair. “I wouldn’t worry about it anymore if I were you. It doesn’t matter if you’re a musician as long as you know how to take care of him properly, and if the judge were to come here himself and watch you, he’d see that you’re the right person to raise Toshi.”

Aoi smiled and nodded, but there was still the worry of informing Toshi of what was going on around him. The little boy didn’t know much about his mother, and Aoi never cared to fill him in. He always thought it would be easier to raise him without the knowledge of who she really was, and sure he let him know his own opinion of her, but he’d never let him meet her himself. In his opinion, he didn’t need to meet the woman who abandoned him for no reason.

He sighed and nuzzled the blonde’s hand. Maybe tomorrow he’d talk to Toshi and tell him everything. Toshi was completely involved in the situation without realizing it, and it wasn’t right to keep him in the shadows when Aoi was fighting to keep him.

A/N: Finally all the family issues are over and done with, so I think I'll be able to work on writing more often. I've been so distracted by doing literally everything for my grandma that I haven't had the time to sit down and write, which has honestly been a pain in the ass. I know this chapter isn't much, but I'm feeling pretty burnt out on this story. I'm not saying I'm discontinuing it or anything, but I'm going to be writing one shots featuring D to help me keep interest in writing.

For those of you interested, I'll be working on some Halloween stories. I'm afraid I won't be able to write the one I had made the polls for because of the surgeries and hospitals stays of my mom and grandma (and taking up a lot of time). That story was going to be chaptered, and if I began writing it now, it'd span on for months and I don't want to write anything Halloween-related after the end of the month. Instead I'm thinking of working on some rewrites of Princess of Sexual Witch Doll, and possibly Trick or Treat (which was my first Halloween story written in 2007). I'm also working on a D Halloween story that features Tsunehito and Asagi.

In the future I'm going to be posting some new chapter stories such as Moonlight Sonata (Yoshiki/Asagi), and maybe a new Aoi/Uruha story if you guys can help me come up with a plot. I'm also writing a story similar to Bombered featuring Ruki/Yutaka. As far as other stories go, I have some one shots to finish up and post that I've put on the back burner.

If I haven't mentioned it before, Here is no Why has been discontinued for obvious reasons. I'm sorry to those of you who were reading it.

Anyways, I hope to be making a comeback with new work. I hope you guys will still continue to read my new work, and if not I hope you guys will still look back on my old stories and continue to enjoy them.

Comments would be nice!! ♥
