We all have our own "wish list". You know...the one that contains all our dreams, desires, goals etc. Some have very short ones while others have lengthy ones that resemble a grocery receipt of items bought a day before a price increase.
I have the privilege of having friends who share with me their lists and here are some of my observations:
(1) Those who are happy with their lives have very detailed wish lists (i.e. read at least one book a month; journal the days events by 10 pm; form an interest group with A, B & C).
(2) Those who are often frustrated with their lives and are usually clueless as to what to do next, have very general wish lists (i.e. read as many books as possible within a year; take time to journal; have a better relationship with family and friends).
(3) Those who are contented and have a sunny outlook have wish lists that put their abilities and interests in consideration (i.e. take Asian cooking lessons; offer summer classes on scriptwriting; join the church choir; paint a family portrait)
(4) Those who are successful in achieving their goals have wish lists that reflect an aim to help others (i.e. teach A so he can teach others as well; train B so she can put up her own business)
(5) Those who are serious in having a better life have wish lists that cover all aspects of their lives (career, relationships, learning, hobbies, spiritual etc.)
Someone once said, "An archer cannot hit the bullseye if he doesn't know where the target is."
