My tastes are not that strange!

I thought, when I referred to those $15 stacking plastic lawn/patio chairs as "ubiquitous" that I knew what ubiquitous meant.

Sadly, I was mistaken.  They are not ever-present.  They are not "constantly encountered" - in fact, not once today, and I was trying!  If they are "widespread", their range does not include retail establishments. They are not for sale in any stores.  I was in four today, attempting to acquire some cheap chairs in preparation for a weekend BBQ party. But no, these chairs are non-ubiquitous, which is to say, scarce.   The four stores I was in included Target, Lowe's, Walmart (an excellent place to look when you're searching for cheap plastic things), and Home Depot (which one would thing would be obvious, since said chairs are on the website).  But no.  No chairs.  I just emailed 2 people on Craigslist so if that works out my friends will have someplace to sit... if not, I apologize.

Why no chairs??
Well, I did see a handful of pricey patio furniture marked down significantly.  I did see a lot of back-to-school paraphenalia. I even saw Halloween creeping in.  That means it's way too late int eh year to be casually sitting around outside.

The good news is, there's a tropical storm poised to dump water on us on Saturday, so maybe I don't have as many friends to find chairs for as I thought I did.
