new vehicle?
Well, Fred got back from out of country on Sunday night... if you'll all remember from my rambling, ranting, insane phone post from two weeks ago, my trucks transmission went tits up the day before his flight out was scheduled... beautiful timing, eh?
Apparently the visit went well... he went to scout out locations for some restaurants in Dubai, and met with a modicum of success... good for him...
Better for me... for this success left him in a very good mood... he came back talking about all the ideas he had, and the proposals he had made to his partners, and a whole bunch of restaurant stuff that was actually quite interesting to me (not the norm, lemme tell you)... so when he and I (and Matthew, of course) sat down to talk turkey, he had a few ideas about where to go and how to approach the whole car buying thing - he actually found it a reasonable thing for me to be looking at a new vehicle instead of playing 'patch up the truck again' like I've been doing for he past 3 or so years!! - and then told me, shop around, find something that you can live with and that meets all your specifications (I have a list), and I'll take care of you..
Holy crap...
I have been spending the past two weeks trying to figure out how the hell I was going to approach him in order to swindle money out of him (well, 'beg' would be a better word - but swindle sounds so much cooler), and he just up and says 'I'll take care of you'...
Now I need to start a search for a vehicle and get some hard numbers for monthly payments (on paper no less) so he knows how much more to pay me in order that I may actually pay for the vehicle...
