Question/Problem: Last week, when I shut my computer down, it didn't come back. I got the Vaio splash screen, then a blinking cursor in the upper left hand corner. I could get into the BIOS, and I have the restore CD. It took a lot of googling, since the computer wouldn't load from the restore disk at first, but I got a successful reformat. ( Read more... )

Hi everyone,

After a lot of drama with my old laptop, I have finally gotten it back and need to hook it up to an external display to get my files off and onto my new laptop.  It's a Sony Vaio (I can find the model number if necessary) running Windows XP.  When I plug my monitor in (Dell), the Vaio logo show on the screen, followed by the Windows XP ( Read more... )
