This fundraiser next Thursday, 8 November 2007, over at Google for the in-progress documentary Invisible Computers: The Untold Story of the ENIAC Programmers is tempting.

Alas, my schedule may not allow it to fit.

I didn't have my dance shoes in my bag. I wasn't expecting to go dancing tonight. I was just planning to see old friends at the USENIX Conference. And I did. I was recently aboard the USS Hornet aircraft carrier for a private event. I've seen lots of naval ships, so this wasn't a big deal. But, it was still fun. The best part was riding on the flight deck elevator. Actually, just watching it come swooshing down to the hangar bay level to pick up 200+ of us was impressive. Dropping in an instant. My friend Rebecca is directing the Tom Stoppard play Arcadia at The Pear Avenue Theatre in Mountain View. It's playing from 23 Feb 2007 through 18 Mar 2007. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend opening weekend. I do plan to see it at least once during the run. I have really enjoyed what she's directed before.

There are always things to do in the Bay Area. It's just a matter of choosing and making time. One exhibition I'm looking forward to checking out is the M.C. Escher exhibition from 28 Jan 2007 through 22 Apr 2007 at the San Jose Museum of ArtI was supposed to check out some museums with an old friend in SF this week.
