I took a trip outside this morning to go grocery shopping in the village's sparkly new supermarket.
Now granted, it's Supervalu so we're a few steps down the food-chain from Harrods food hall, but what the hell, I decided it couldn't be that bad.
Unfortunately it's the polar opposite end of town from me, but what the hell, I hadn't much else planned. Surprisingly enough, it wasn't that bad. Imagine, one can now buy exotic produce such as a courgette without having to travel to another town. They even operate a
squeaky-voiced-teenager who I'm sure couldn't have been old enough to drive, to deliver your groceries to the house for free (although, they did get the €1 I had to put in the trolley!) This, my friends, is progress. It's almost like it's 1994!
