Thank you, dear vidder, for signing up and for making a vid for me. I'm so excited!!
In case you're searching for ideas, I generally love happy, feel-good things, found families, etc. I also like action and explosions and space battles and triumphing over evil. Ensemble vids, character vids, shippy vids, lord king bad vids, recruitment vids... I like all the vids!!
I'm looking for the vid that YOU want to make in one of the fandoms we share/matched on. Honestly! I have no DNW's so the sky's the limit. Some of my favorite vids in exchanges are the ones I least expected - the ones I didn't know I wanted! But just in case - below I talk a bit about the fandoms I chose and what I like about them, if you'd like some sort of springboard or idea.
The Expanse
I'm a fan of both the books and the show and am thrilled with the direction they've taken with some of the characters on screen. Something with an ensemble or found family vibe would be terrific, I love all the bonds the characters are making (platonic and otherwise). There's also so much narrative going on visually, that a vid could be made just of the various environments - highlighting the differences between Earth, Mars, the Belt. Or a character vid (any of them!) would be welcome as well, Chrisjen is my favorite but I really adore them all.
Friday Night Lights
This show has so many wonderful characters and so many layers to every story arc. I especially like the Taylor family and would welcome a Coach/Tami vid, a mother-daughter vid or father-daughter vid, or a Julie/Matt vid. However, there are no characters I dislike, so if you've been burning for an excuse to make a [insert character or ship of your choice] vid since the show went off the air -- I'm dying to see it! :)
Justified
My not-so-secret wish is for a Tim/Rachel vid, but I know the source for workable scenes is thin. I do love both Tim and Rachel and any vid highlighting them working with Raylan or just the Marshals in general would make my day. I also adore Boyd and Boyd/Ava and all their dysfunctional love.
Practical Magic
90's nostalgia with LADIES and MAGIC and SISTERHOOD. I honestly haven't seen this movie in ages, but when I saw it on the tag set I immediately smiled. I also remember the book fondly and Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman ROCKED in this movie. I imagine it's stood up well over time. *goes to re-watch it*
Jack Reacher movies
I have a soft spot for action films. Explosions and car chases, oh my! A vid that highlights the exploits and badass-ness of Helen Rodin's investigative prowess and Susan Turner's combat skills would make my day! And Tom Cruise himself may be... questionable at times(?) ... but he does the clenched jaw and threatening frowny-face very well.
