I've figured out what went wrong with my preacher cookies, where it became runny instead of hardening and being crunchy. The key is to boil the milk, sugar and butter long enough so it becomes slightly saturated. Anyway, we perfected the recipes when the kids came over, as Amirah over-boiled the milk. As the city was counting down last night, I decided to spend the night home to relax. Inspiration struck and I decided to make mini Xmas puddings out of my usual "No bake cookies" aka "Preacher Cookies" recipe.
