Last night I dreamt I went to math class again....
I have a set of recurring dreams that center around school. I've had dreams on this theme for years, even though I'm not taking classes any more and I've never actually had this problem in real life.
In these dreams, I am attending classes and I suddenly realize, about halfway or two-thirds of the way through the semester, that I have not been attending one class. I have simply forgotten about it. This is always a math class. In a panic, I try to attend, try to figure out if I have a chance to pass the class because, for me, it would be the end of the world if I were to fail a class. So I set out to go to class. But I can't find the class. Inevitably, its location has changed since the beginning of the semester and I have to search the campus for this class. If I eventually find the class (sometimes the entire dream consists of this frantic search), I walk in and sit down, only to face a whole new set of anxieties. Not only do I have no idea what the professor is talking about (big surprise, since I haven't been to class all semester), but I either have no textbook or I have the wrong textbook. I never finish the class. I never drop the class. Sometimes I never find the class--or my book.
