Lately, my life has been devoid of fun. It's basically a cycle revolving around work, more work, and school. And then some work on the side. Usually I come home from well...work and it's late and I'm most likely annoyed about something having to do with the MTA so all I want to do is park and go inside the apartment.
Park. It should be an easy thing to do. Well, it's not. We have been allotted one spot right in front of the house and the only other instruction we were given is to not park in front of the neighbor's house to our right because they park there. Simple enough. The rest of the street is fair game. Right? No.
I need a source of entertainment so the only option I have are my neighbors on the left. I think they are an older couple, maybe retired, well at least the woman might be. She's home a lot. I've seen her a lot and I don't think that's a coincidence. I have the slightest suspicion that she watches me. She watches me because I have moved her garbage twice so I could park. The first time is out of frustration, the second time is for fun. Here's the problem: they have enough room in front of their home for at least two cars, possibly three. These people have a driveway and an empty garage for only two cars. When we moved here, both cars were always in the driveway so I start to park on the other side of my landlord's driveway. When I park there, my car is maybe four feet in front of their property. I don't think they like this. I think this because on garbage days and recycling days, the lazy bitch drags her cans to the side of my landlord's driveway. Stop me if you do something different but don't you put your garbage next to your own house? So one day I move it. I want to park by my apartment. I not so gently drag it across the street and plop it in front of their drive, get back in my car in a huff, and park. The next pick-up day, they make sure their pails are out at two o'clock in the afternoon, next to my landlord's driveway. I get home, laugh about it, move them to the opposite side of their house. The game begins.
Now they start parking the car in the middle of the stretch in front of their house. I make sure to maneuver my truck (Pedey F.) right in front of it almost touching their driveway. Katie:1 Neighbors:0. The next night is both recycling and trash so they park their car close to their drive and spread out their pails. I condense them and park behind it all, so close that they won't pick it up in the morning because they can't see it. I get two points for that one. Now it's a full out war! They park BOTH cars on the street and spread out enough that I can't park in front or in-between.
So I park on the other side of their driveway.
Katie:4 Neighbors: totally inconvenienced.
why is this so hard for you?
