Title: Rescue Mission: Failed
Characters: Subaru, Kamui, Hokuto, Emeraude
Rating: Crack
Summary: Hokuto is evil.
Notes: Hymnal is evil, too.
"Kamui-san..." Subaru said, his voice trembling. "I don't think you should do that."
" 'mokay!" the other boy assured him, one leg dangling out the window. "I do it all th'time at home."
"But what if sensei sees?"
"Don' worry so much! I'll be back before she gets here. I jus' wanna get your hat..."
The door opened.
"SENSEI!! KAMUI-CHAN IS CLIMBING OUT THE WINDOW OH HO HO HO!!"
Kamui slipped a little and clung to the sill with both hands and one foot. "AM NOT!!"
Emeraude covered her mouth with both hands and then shook her head. "Kamui-chan, please come back inside."
Subaru helped his friend climb back into the classroom, then stood next to him with a worried expression on his face. "I'm sorry, sensei, it's my fault."
Kamui turned sharply and made a face at him. "Is not!" He looked back at their teacher. "Subaru's hat fell outside an' I was gonna get it for him." He shot Hokuto an angry look. "I woulda been fine."
Emeraude smiled and patted him on the head. "Of course, Kamui-chan. You are a very good friend," she said gently. "But next time, tell me, and we'll go get it together, okay?"
Still sulking a little, Kamui scuffed his foot on the carpet. "'Kay." Emeraude moved to the front of the classroom and Subaru's twin came bounding up to the pair, with Kotori in tow.
"I'm gonna tell Fuu-nii-chan!" Hokuto crowed. "He'll tell your mom."
Kamui's little face filled with dark shadows. "Don' you dare!"
She peered at him with an evil smile. Subaru stood between them, looking back and forth so quickly that it looked like he was watching a tennis match. "Nee-san, maybe you shouldn't--"
"I won't tell.... if you let me make clothes for you."
Kamui twitched and Subaru paled. Hokuto rubbed her hands together. "I'll make you a dress to wear when you marry 'Tori-chan, oh ho ho ho ho!!"
