The humane society moved into its brand-new building on the weekend. I'm so happy about this. I love volunteering there, but the dingy old building made it hard to see the animals in that place. The new shelter has open spaces and play-rooms instead of just rows of cages ( Read more... )

Tonight was pretty quiet at the shelter. Which is a good thing! We still haven't gotten the spring influx of kittens. Last spring there were nights that every time we looked up, someone was coming in the door with a box of kittens. I have been so sleepy over the last few days. It's like I can't get enough sleep. I've been sleeping all night and for huge chunks of the days while I've been off. I'm not depressed - my mood is fine. But I just feel so sleepy all the time. I hope it's just fatigue from working those overtime shifts last week. But it's really hard to shake ( Read more... )

Last night I did my usual volunteer shift at the Humane society. It was a really good shift, actually. Not so busy that I was run off my feet. I love volunteering there.
