It's raining, it's pouring
Great Cthulhu's snoring
He'll wake one day
And make us pay
But at least it won't be boring!
SciFi tonight, as per usual. Also, don't read the SyFy (gag) channel's forums. It seems to be the goal of pretty much everyone who posts there to find as many things as possible to dislike a show. They had a "pet peeve" thread up about Warehouse 13 before the pilot had even aired! Ewww. (I peeked in there to see what other people were saying about Artie, given discussions we'd had here about him. Some of the complaints were along the same lines, but plenty of others seemed to be of the "we hate everything" variety, so it's hard to get anything really thought-provoking out of those forums.)
Spider had another stomatitis flare-up. She's feeling better now on antibiotics and is being extra-affectionate in response. We're now going to try a steroid a day after this antibiotic run is over, and see if that keeps the flare-ups away. The two-three times a week steroid thing worked for about three months. Poor kitty!
Classes start next week. I'm teaching the same thing again. It's kinda weird this year, because we're starting on Wednesday but running Monday's schedule, which will no doubt confuse lots of people. Fortunately, my Monday and Wednesday schedules are the same, so our class, at least won't have more than the usual confusion. But with only one lecture in when we have discussion sessions on Thursday, there won't be much to do other than go over the syllabus and requirements and such. Though that can take most of the time period anyway, the way I do it. Which is a road-map for the course kind of thing, rather than just reading the syllabus.
Fall is looking socially busy! Not as packed as some people I know, though. But still. And I would totally love to get a chance to visit Madison in the fall.
songsofautumn and
odiedragon keep posting things that make me nostalgic for Madison!
