Three of the four books I ordered from Amazon arrived today. All of them in a seperate box, even the one that was less than 100 pages. Go figure.
The bulk of the order, the complete collections of "The Far Side" and "Calvin and Hobbes", are incredible. Both books encompass well over a thousand pages and both weigh on the order of 20lbs (yes, TWENTY POUNDS) each. I'd love to sit and read them, but I can barely lift them. As for the other books, with the creationism trial currently being battled out because of the Dover school district (good old conservitive Pennsylvanians!), I decided that I would pick up "Origin Of Species" by Charles Darwin. After adding that one to the cart, one of the reccomendations was the Communist Manifesto. Seemed like an interesting read, and only $5, so I figured what the hell. Needless to say, I have some interesting reading ahead of me.
I've been trying to play Final Fantasy Online as much as I can, but I find myself riddled with distractions. Both today and yesterday I had a few good solid hours available to level up my warrior, which is desperately lacking levels. I have spent all my ingame time looking for a party. And I thought Dragoons were unloved. Sheesh. I at least got to level 42 as a Dragoon, which is awesome since I can use my artifact weapon for a while. Took me a while to realize that I was missing my swings quite a bit and that my berserk ability wasn't working. Took me half an hour to realize I was subbing Monk. That mistake won't happen again. It was the first time I ever felt like I wasn't pulling my weight in a party, ugh. (Sorry again, Jae! >< )
And last but not least, I finally got around to watching Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy today. It's a good movie, and maybe because I was tired, but it seemed kind of jumpy, plot-wise. I guess it's one of those movies where you get so much more from reading the book. Which, is like ALL movies based on a book. I'd give it a thumbs up, but I'm sure many people more clever than I have already beat that joke into the ground.
