Eehehe that's awesome! I would totally be in the same boat-- buy, then stash away. Which is what really the only thing that dampens my desire to impulse-buy, because the last thing I need is more stuff lying around (even if it IS digimon-related). Still, I agree that you never do know when you might need one... :3
HNGH Those figures are sooooo cute. I want them. Especially Taichi. *sad*
There's always a chance they'll be brought over here to be sold at anime conventions, right? Maybe? (*Crosses fingers*) (Answer is no, no one ever imports Digimon merch to these things because Digimon is not popular anymore.)
I actually also have that phone strap thingy. I put it on my pretty pink Wii controller. ^^ And whenever someone comes over and tries to use it as an actual wrist strap, I have to gently reprimand them. ("No! That's not! What it's for!") And I'm supposed to have some of those keychains on the way (Taichi, Hikari & their Digis) since I entered a "group buy" situation awhile back...(need to follow up on that, heh.) I acquired these things through digimoncollect, which is a really fun community to watch even when I'm not salivating over (and spending money on) adorable goods. :D
Uggh, I know, and the figures haven't even been released yet, right? Which means I get to go through all of this again when they do come out XP
Re: Straps and keychains: Waaagh, really?? Not jealous not jealous not jealous not jealous (well, OK, kind of jealous-- those keychains are super-cute) ;) Why I'm not already part of *every digimon comm* is a bleepin' mystery, but I also didn't used to be so into Digimon swag, so there you go.
I've actually been toying with the idea of making my own keychain for a while. Something small and simplified, along the lines of what was in Diaboromon Strikes Back. I might have to get on that sooner rather than later.
Omg. You SHOULD MAKE THAT. (Only I'm guessing you wouldn't start with Yamato, which is fine with me, even though he *does* make a pretty cute cell phone charm.) What type of media would you make it from? Personally, I'm no good with 3D (although I haven't really practiced much) but I would love to try and make some of those pressed plastic charms like the ones that are sold in Artists' Alleys at conventions.
Who to make who to make hrmmm LET ME THINK ABOUT IT :D
No, actually this is a valid question because I hadn't really thought that far ahead yet ^^; I mean, I know who my top two choices are, but... the only thing I know how to use is polymer clay and it's been a really long time, plus big and/or spiky hair is prolly pretty easy to bork up. I guess it makes sense to start easy (Iori? An in-training digimon?) and work up from there. Dare I say... digimon craft party?!?? XD
You know, I honestly hadn't thought about 2D acryllics. The first link I found on making your own (yo) links to a couple of places that will cut them for you, but going that route doesn't look like a onesy-twosy sort of deal. Still, something to think about!
