So far today

Didn't sleep well last night, mostly restless as my brain wanted to sleep, but my body, not so much. So ended up getting up sometime between 6 and 7am.

Spent the first couple of hours doing a little catch up online and then began to work further on a post for my blog, finally getting up and fixing breakfast around 8AM, cooking bacon that I had to toss due to burning it butt good so took the last three strips and did them in the microwave instead, cooking oatmeal and toast. Finally, around 11am or so, got in the shower and was out the door to do errands around 11:45AM.

Traffic itself wasn't so bad from my house to the collective distributor SB to I-90, 4th Ave S etc when it all began to backup at the turn off to the off ramp down to 4th Ave S, thanks to two events in the SODO area. One was an event for Amazon (company picnic of some sort), the other the Mariners and the Canuks playing Baseball - and then we have the Torchlight Parade in Downtown Seattle this evening, and it runs along 4th Ave. Knowing that I knew not to go home through downtown, but would detour up to the Central District (CD) and Rainier Ave and head home via Boren to Broadway, home.

Meanwhile, I had to get bread and a couple of things at PFI and almost forgot the Pacific Galleries flea market sale that was today from 9-3 in their parking lot. That was fun, though didn't buy anything. One thing that was inside the gallery itself was a white Joe Cesare Colombo's Portable Storage System, a mod modern styled office cart in ABS plastic. It is designed for office/art supplies and this one was white and in so, so condition as it's yellowed in places, scratched and has a section of the bottom skirt broken out, though the piece is with the cart - all for $45. Not bad and if I had $45, I would have bought it with the intent of trying to restore the plastic and fix the broken piece, though I would prefer red or some other color other than white.

It's one of the things, such as Componibili by Anna Castelli Ferrieri that is iconic to the late 60's and early 70's. Both are Italian, and both made mod modern designed furniture, often using ABS plastic. Her famous round storage system is now an icon of that time and place, and is still made to this day for Kartell. Joseph's portable storage system is also still being made today as well, and both were designed in 1969. I wished I had the opportunity to buy a 2 tier vintage brown componibili at Pacific Galleries but never had the funds, and finally after being there a long while (a couple of years I think), it finally sold, I think.

From there, I went to Franz bakery to get two loaves of bread and then to PFI for olive oil, parm cheese and some pennine (smaller than penne) regata pasta and came on home.

I didn't get home until 2 or after and some perusal online and a snack and then a nap ensued before I got to looking at available job openings at work for positions at other sites. Found some to check on more but they all contained more or less the same info, and a potpourri of them too to cover any base instead of tailoring the description to an individual site. I found 2 in Bellevue and 4 in the Seattle area with one position being a pay of H03, and the rest at H04. Not sure if H03 (US salaries) is higher than H04 but they are all similar. I'm trying not to get a position that requires receptionist, been there, done that and I don't do that position well.

So on Monday I will have a half dozen sites to look over with our integrated account manager etc and see which ones to go for, or not.

Still not heard from my mortgage lender so will have to try and call her Monday to see if I need to stay with Ricoh until after the house is bought and why I'm asking as more of a clarification.

So that's that and my kitchen is still a mess, though a touch less than before but still a mess nonetheless.

Meanwhile, I'm transferring files from old Windows to a temp file on another partition so I can remove that old install and free up room on the C partition. I need to do two other versions of older windows as well, and delete them too. Those are the backup versions when Windows has to reinstall itself, creating a backup folder of the old version so all data that I've created, IE, photos and word documents etc aren't lost in the process. It'll take some time as there is a lot on some of the folders I'm copying.

I have leftovers for dinner and call it good as far as that goes.

So far, cloudy and we've had a sprinkle or two but remained dry and we were to have hit 70, though I doubt we actually hit that high as we are currently sitting at 67 and the high has come and gone for the day. Overall, a nice change of pace from hot and dry.
