Hot, oh so very hot

Yes we hit 94F today, yep in Seattle no less!

This morning I was up just shy of 7AM to go get quarters and coffee, and while there, picked up a package of good bacon that does not cost an arm and a leg, and a coconut/chocolate donut (known as a feather boa from Top Pot donuts), and a croissant for breakfast, and a large gallon jug of distilled water for record cleaning.

Came back home, and it was already 70F at 7AM and the heat has been climbing ever since.

Did laundry, showered, and mostly just didn't do much due to the heat, though I did a little bit with my records, and got a photo of one for a post I'm working on for my blog, and cleaned off the volume knob of my receiver (it was grody) and that's been largely it, outside of wash the two pans I used this morning.

However, yesterday, I was in Tacoma for a lovely afternoon at Pt Defiance Park and Zoo in Tacoma Washington and is situated near Commencement Bay in what is known as Dalco Passage, which connects Commencment Bay, the Tacoma Narrows, Colvos Passage, and Quartermaster Harbor along with the main and southern Puget Sound Basins.

The park itself was established in 1890, and the spot where we were was near the formal rose gardens near the park's entrance in what was the grounds for the former Superintendent's house. We had a spot with two picnic tables under trees and a third tree allowed for stringing up paper flags that were made out of pretty paper, a lunch that had salads, foccacci bread of two types, and smoked salmon, based on a recipe by an old father in law of my oldest sister.

Got there just after 1pm when everyone was supposed to be there. The reason was I had to make the round through part of 5-mile drive to get back to the beginning as I was trying to locate the gardens and once back at the entrance where the map was, I was able to figure out where to go.

The food and company was great and we were there ALL afternoon, leaving around 5pm or so, once we cleaned up and loaded up the cars. The occasion was my oldest niece had married her husband Max, a Frenchman in France where they live and they'd come out to visit and this was a way to honor the wedding that my sister and her daughter from her current marriage were not able to go to as planned last year.

It was hot, Tacoma was at, or near 90, Seattle the same, and today as I noted earlier in the post, we hit 94, so no wonder the apartment is hot.

Once the sun goes down, I'll open up the slider to increase the air circulation.

Got some photos, but sadly, not with my DSLR, as I had taken the battery out to give a charge to ensure I had plenty of juice as it was down to one bar, and unfortunately, forgot it, leaving it the charger, a photographer's sin if you will. Oh well, so my cell phone had to stand in. I'll look at the photos and see how they came out.

So yeah, got a touch sunburned but was in the shade most of the time but a good time was had by all.

Next up is a quick run to the store for some boxed muscles to heat up as it's hot in this here apartment and get a peach if ripe enough to add to the meal, and maybe a caprice salad?
