Yep.
Got the red beans on to cook after soaking overnight and got them in the crock pot between 9-9:30 this morning and were done by 5:30. All I h ad to do then was cook the rice and open the can of peaches that have been in my fridge for over a week, unopened.
Dinner was delicious but the ham hock was not overly flavorful as they would be otherwise unfortunately, so extra salting was necessary. Not to taste the salt but to add flavor in a general sense. Otherwise the beans come out terribly one note and perhaps bland.
I did clean up the desk and sorted papers, picked up the kitchen by first putting away the clean dishes from last night and washed some more. neither were large loads and watched the pride parade online, though a crappy stream as it mostly was in low res, unfortunately and it every now and then would improve, only to go back to less than standard def (480). Still though, it was fun to watch. A quick run to the store for lunch meat and that was my sole outing, outside of removing some trash and recyclables and that's been mostly it.
I did get in a nap after the parade and then to the store once I was awake.
I think we hit 84F and remained cloudy all day so it was not as bad, but the apartment did heat up some as the day went on, sadly. Currently, we are at 77F and the low overnight will be around 65F with tomorrow being partly cloudy with sunshine, and the high around 86 and staying in teh 80's, and 90's through the following Tuesday the 13th with full on sunshine once we get past tomorrow. This is assuming the forecast holds however.
So this Sunday is about over and tomorrow is yet another work week, ugh.
