Last night, finished up my Keep Feeling Fascination, and all that Pop music folder on the new thumb drive, so now it contains the rest of side two, including the extended version of the Safety Dance, by Men Without Hats. The version I'd had wanted all along. No, not a difficult one to find, but I never knew where it had originated so didn't know where to look. All I had was the shortened single edit off of a 45rpm single.
Then when I finished ripping, I then went in and finished tagging, fixing a typo on many of the tracks (the album name) on some of the tracks, so that's now done.
Then I ripped the first of 3 CD's from my Rockin' to a New Wave CD series, and yes, I have a file to finish for Vol. 4, there has ALWAYS meant to be 4 CD's, it's just that I had a bit more than what would fit, since I was originally building these to cassette back in the mid 1990's since the tapes were all 90 minute, and CD's at full CD audio is only 80 min, max.
Anyway, making progress sthere and cooked a delicious meal last night. Had to toss out an ear of corn I didn't get to in time and it's bad, I had gone to the store and bought a package of large shrimp (for less than $2), 5 or 6 large ones, in shell, but devained, and uncooked. I also got a spear of Brocolli and came home to use up the leftover spaghetti pasta I had in the fridge, added half of a shallot, some garlic, sliced and sauted them in olive oil to get going, then added the pealed shirimp and cooked until just pink, removed teh shrimp, added a splash of white wine, pinch or two of salt, pepper and juice of a small lemon, a small pat of butter and reduced some before adding the softened pasta and shrimp, tossing good to coat.
The Brocolli got cut into smallish pieces, put into a microwavable bowl, coveered with Saran Wrap, 3 holes poked in it to let the steam escape, nuked for 2.5 minutes to steam, added seasoning salt, a small pinch of shredded parm cheese, and sprinkled some for pasta dish too and it was all yummy.
I will b e fixing my Two Guys, a Car and the Open Road CD and file. I want to replaced Montego Bay and Indiana Wants Me with two more appropriate tracks after deciding the two previously mentioend tracks just don't fit after all these years (built to cassette in the early to mid 90's originally). One track is Three Dog Night's Out in the Country and I had another track that was so appropriate, but now, I forget what it was, and I thought I posted that thought, but was not finding it last night. Will have to do a bit more digging as I'm blanking on what my second replacement choice was.
And finally, I'm in that mood that comes when the temps drop to the mid to upper 60's at best, days remain nice, but breezy, especially in the afternoons and mornings are often cloudy, though it looks like it's not as cloudy this morning as it had been. In fact, the sun is out, just not all the way up yet. Today, we'll hit 70 for the high with sunny skies, tomorrow, the same, but 77F for the high and Sunday is partly cloudy, high of 72 and all next week looks partially wet with rain showers, some occasionally and a couple of dry days too, temps mostly in the 60's, but getting to around 70-71 by the weekend.
Also, it's nearing the end of August, all of the big summer festivals are over, save for Bumbershoot, which is Labor Day weekend, usually and then we have the big blowout with the Puyallup Fair in early September and it carries us through the first days of fall.
In other words, that fall is nigh, and that means memories of preparing for school and the change of the seasons, yet again. I love fall so I begin to look foreward to it about now.
Anyway, life rolls on. Got not much planned, other than try to work on job research some this weekend, and pay bills too, along with some organizing while at it.
and that means I need to go prepare lunch and get my tuckus out the door towards the vehicle, so I can get into work.
Happy Friday everyone!
