Being stuffed with tea and cake is a nice feeling.
My church choir thought we'd do something a bit different for our February concert this year. Not so much musically as putting it on in the afternoon rather than the evening, and following it with tea and cakes (which friends made for us) rather than wine and a potluck supper (which we have to fit ( Read more... )

I've just had adventcalendar pointed out to me, and feel obliged to pimp it to everyone with vaguely christian leanings out there. This year we are apparently getting the Christmas story as 25 drabbles, one a day. Today's entry (Zacharias after the visitation) nearly had me in unseemly laughter. "Big scary flappy thing" indeed.

What is it with me and Harvest Festivals? I go off to visit my sister for the weekend and discover that it's Harvest Festival there today, so of course I have to go. It's a rural parish, after all, so harvest actually means something there. You won't catch them stacking cans of peas around the altar as an offering unto the Lord. It's just that ( Read more... )
