Yasashisa wo mune ni daite - First song
This is a post about the first song from Tsuyo-chan and there will be a lot of pics of a Hippopotamus, well, they are connected, somehow..
So, the info you can find while surfing the net, is that this is the first song that Tsuyoshi composed, and here it's the clip of him playing it for the first time on TV, looking so super cute in 1997-ish. Actually I happened to run into this clip while listening to another of Tsuyo's songs, and it was love at first listening, as usual with his songs <3.
And since I couldn't find the lyrics in English, here is my try. He included a complete version of this in his cover album "Kaba" (release on May 8th, 2013), even though it's his song and not a cover, I don't remember if it was in the regular version. And yes, there is a play of words, because in Japanese kaba means hippopotamus hence all the cute hipos. If you want to listen to it, I think the link is still here

The farewell words are really difficult to say..

[T/N]: This is such a beautiful song, I couldn't possible have more difficulties with one stanza, the one with the colour and sound. At first I thought this was different from his lately lyrics, but that stanza made me realised how much difficult it's to figure out when the sentence begins and ends with Tsuyo-pon, no matter it's his first song or his last!!
So, this song really makes me remember the theme from 'The night before your birthday', writing such sad songs!
I was lazy and only used the romaji that I could find here and there. Now onto the blog of the lyrics' writer
This song was created in 1997, the first song that Tsuyoshi ever wrote & composed himself, it had been performed on Love Love Aishiteru (1997 & 2001) and Bokura no Ongaku (2004) before, but never been released on CD until now. (Source)
Just to think that this is the first song he wrote and composed makes this really special, of course it's sad, the lyrics are sad and express a lot of emotions. So, this was my try..as always, I'm so sorry for any mistake.
And as a final note, as I mentioned above for some reason this reminds me of "The day before your birthday", not the music but the lyrics, because both are about a breakup. Maybe he had to go through something like that around these days. Because his later work isn't as focused on those themes as these songs. I really like this style, even though I think I prefer his late themes such as life and choices in life. Either way, Tsuyo-pon is a talented musician. Every time I enjoy finding his work!
