Titan

Last night we played Titan, the first time I've had a chance to play that game in years. For the most part during the last few years I've mostly had the opportunity to play games with people who were more interested in the sort of relatively simple, silly kinds of games at which Cheapass Games so excels, and less interested in games with pages of rules that take hours and hours to play. There are a lot of people at the weekly board game night who'd be interested in playing such games, but unfortunately I still have to work the next day (albeit from home) so I don't really have the luxury of starting a game at 7pm that may take several hours to play. We hung out yesterday with Ken and Debbie, two of our new Albuquerque friends from board game night. We played some disc golf, had lunch at a place we can bring the dog (actually has dog food on the menu), and decided to give Titan a try. So we caravaned over to their place and spent the next few hours either trying to learn or trying to remember the rules. It was a shorter game than usual, but everyone played remarkably well for a first game of Titan. I'm very much looking forward to the next.

I still greatly enjoy playing the kinds of games that even non-gamers can get into, but it's refreshing to have the variety of options again.

games, friends, good news
