Kay's Yokohama Trip

Aug 01, 2013 19:55

so, hubs got a great deal on the plane tickets from a service called LCC. he said that the plane tickets from Fukuoka to Nagoya only cost around 3000 yen!  the tickets themselves were actually 2500, but they tack on a bunch of other fees for processing, booking, etc.  :P  from Nagoya, hubs and Kay took the bullet train to Yokohama.

the first day that they left, Kay had just gotten rid of her "summer cold" fever, but was still pretty weak.  so instead of romping around the sights in Nagoya, they went directly to Yokohama.

Kay pretty much slept the whole way over :P

once she got there, she was feeling a lot better but still had a bit of a cough.  first few days there were a bit tough for everyone adjusting to a new environment.  there were a few times when Kay ended up not listening to grandma, which in turn made my mother in-law constantly nag at hubs for not taking care of her resulting in hubs getting sick of his mother's nagging and almost packing up and coming home early!  ^_^;;  it's no surprise why he left home after high school.  :/  however, he called me and vented his frustrations and i listened and calmed him down.  i just told him to do what he felt he needed to do and if that meant buying new tickets to fly back home early, then so be it.  fortunately, he only needed to vent a bit to me to set his logic back into gear and ended up staying :)  my mother in-law eased up i guess, because hubs didn't complain to me anymore, so i guess she realized what she was doing wrong too.

anyway, Kay got to play with her friend M-chan while they were there since she was off from school on summer break.  they would spend every minute of every day together.  M-chan and Kay go waaay back since Kay's the only kid in the neighborhood for M-chan to play with.  M-chan is about a year older than Kay, so they get along really well.  :)

here they are playing a princess game, which eventually ended up being a monster/ghost game ^_^;;

a Japanese summer isn't complete without a bit of fireworks!  :)

the next day, off to the "Log House", which is a play house for bigger kids.  they played there for about two hours and then couldn't take the heat anymore (no a/c!!!), so they moved on to the local "game center", which was nice and cool. :)

hubs said that Yokohama was a bit cooler than Fukuoka, but it all seemed pretty hot to me in these pictures ^_^;;

on the 29th, Kay went out with M-chan's family to Lala Port Mall and ended up doing some sort of workshop making cookies :D

looks like they had such a great time :D  that was also one of the times on this trip that Kay went out without hubs or me being with her.  :)

on the last day, hubs and Kay left Yokohama bright and early at 6:00 AM to head on over to Hamamatsu.

hubs took her to visit the Hamamatsu Children's Plaza, which looked really awesome from the pics and vids.  according to hubs, it was totally awesome and the best out of ALL the places he's ever taken her!  he says that it's so big that you can literally spend a whole day there.  kids that are 6 or under get in for free, school aged children are 100 yen, and adults are only 200 yen!! can you believe that??? if you're ever in Hamamatsu, you should definitely go!  ^_^

they didn't get to Nagoya Station until late afternoon, where you can see "Nana-chan" (the giant sculpture of a woman).  :)  they were originally suppose to come back around 10:00 PM, but their flight got delayed, so they ended up coming back around 10:30.  Kay was pretty much spent by then, and crashed right after a shower ^_^

so, that was Kay and hubs' Yokohama trip.  dunno when we'll go again, but hopefully it will be soon since my in-laws are getting older and older, and we really want Kay to get as much time with them as possible. :)  below are some of the vids from the trip.  enjoy!
