The small creaks that echoed behind him as he stepped into his house were surreal. Her footsteps followed his onto the old wood flooring of his house. Ryosuke had lived alone for quite some time already, so hearing footsteps apart from his own were a weird feeling. He turned to see the doll...Mirai, fumbling with her fingers, just like any normal being would. How peculiar her behavior was. It was so...human. “This is my home. You can make yourself comfortable.” Tilting her head to the side she opened her mouth to speak, but paused as if to think about what she should say. “How...how should I make myself comfortable?” Well, maybe she wasn’t fully normal.
After sitting Mirai down at the table he set the water filled kettle onto the stove, preparing to make some tea. Could she even have tea? Could she eat? What had he set himself up for? Turning around to look at the girl he asked “Do you want tea?” However there was no response. “Can you drink things?” Just as he was about to turn off the stove, all the while scolding himself for even thinking a doll could drink, her small voice whispered a yes. Yes. Yes, this doll could drink. Yes, this doll was alive. Yes, it was unbelievable and Ryosuke felt like this was a dream. A very, very odd dream.
No matter how you looked at her, she was human. Ryosuke always believed that the world was filled with wonders yet to be found or understood...but this...this was not one that even in his wildest thoughts would have imagined. With nothing left to do but wait for the water to boil Ryosuke sat himself across Mirai. The silence drove on until it became unbearable for him. “Do you...do you know how you became...?” Leaving his sentence unfinished, he assumed Mirai would understand his meaning. The slight shake of her head informed him she was just as clueless. “Has this happened before...you...changing?” Again her head shook, leaving her bangs disheveled in the process. Sighing, Ryosuke looked down at his hands as a means of distraction.
The loud shriek of the kettle had brought Ryosuke out of his thoughts, and Mirai to jump in her chair from the sudden noise. “Sorry” He mumbled as he hastily got up before the water could boil over and out the kettle. Quickly turning the stove off he reached for the cabinets above him, pulling out his own dark blue mug, then slowly a pink and white polka dotted one. Setting them down onto the counter Ryosuke ran his thumb over the chipped area at the rim of the pink mug. He’d seen it everyday, even this morning, he washed the mug with care every so often despite that it hasn’t been used in years. Using it, well using it was a totally different story. It wasn’t as if he had a shortage of mugs; He could have as easily pulled out any other mug her owned. Like the plain round white one he served to guests, or the bright red mug he got as a secret santa gift a few years back in school. What brought him to take this out? Nevertheless the cup was already out, he might as well use it.
Gently placing the large mug of green tea in front of Mirai, he eyed her as her small hands slowly wrapped around the mug. Once back in his own seat and after a couple sips of tea, his eyes traveled back to her hands. Mirai’s eyes slightly narrowed and her brow almost unnoticeably furrowed, she inspected the mug in her hands. Her right hand left the side of the mug, only to be brought to the rim as she dragged her fingers along the curves of it. She stopped right at the chipped portion, then slowly ran her fingers over that too. Thinking that she might dislike it, Ryosuke began to offer to replace the mug with another one. However she looked up at him with a faint smile as she told him it was alright in almost a whisper.
“Are you here alone?” She asked. Startled he put his mug down to look at the doll...girl...mirai...in front of him. Her eyes were filled with question, waiting for him to answer. “Uh yeah, I do live alone.” “Are you not lonely?” “Sometimes.” “I was too.” Pausing he realized she said she had once been lonely, so she had once been alive? In a cautious tone he asked “You were lonely?” “I was.” “...so you HAVE been alive?” Her words were not adding up, she had told him this had never happened before. “I know.” She said. “What?” “I know you are confused...I am too”
Fiddling with her thumbs her eyes stared up at him. Eyes that were like a pool of warm chocolate, eyes that were full of life. Staring back into her eyes he felt his heart skip a beat. It was as if time stopped for a moment and all that mattered was him, her and this little room they sat in. The curtains were drawn allowing the sunset’s warm orange tinted light to seep through into his house, enveloping Mirai from behind making her glow. Ryosuke could not deny that this girl was gorgeous. She emitted the feeling of warmth with her small stature and round eyes that welcomes anyone like a child. How would it feel like to run his hands through her long soft locks of hair? Or hold her small hands?Ryosuke kept his thoughts from roaming any farther than that. There were much much more dire matters at hand and he shouldn’t be distracted by such trivial teenage boy thoughts.

Hello my lovely readers! I've been gone for quite some time haven't I? I've been busy with school work and life and I just returned from Japan (I was there for quite some time visiting family and just as a get away.) I'm also preparing for college etc. so I can't quite say that I'll be active anytime soon. I'm so sorry that this chapter is so short! I haven't updated this FanFic for years I think...I just about abandoned it I suppose you could say, but here I am updating it! TADAH! Truthfully I'm not sure where to go with this because the story idea was Camsaheads and she created a trailer just for fun. Then because I was complaining to her and Butatokki at that time that I had no plot idea Cams suggeted I turn her trailer into a fanfic. So here I am trying to fullfill that. However I'm sorry to any of you who really like this story but I've made Bound by Blood (if you haven't read it I highly recommend it! Its the fanfic I have the most fun writing and would love you all to read it and review!) but as I was saying, Bound by Blood is my priority just because well...its my favorite of all my fanfics and I actually properly planned it out (yes this is such a shameful thing to let you all in on...but i have a bad habit not planning out the endings for my fanfics, yikes.) Love you all! MWAH <3
