Second verse, same as the first.

Yeah, so I'm behind again. But for once, I'm not actually behind on watching tapes (at least thus far, I don't have to tape anything this season...and it is SUCH a relief). I'm just behind in actually writing anything about the aforementioned shows I've watched. But I guess it just wouldn't be me if I did things on time, right?

So, here we go - a plethora of television reviews....

The premiere was good, I thought, but nothing too amazing. There wasn't really any character growth or change that I could see - it was just your run of the mill WaT episode. Which is fine and well, but I would think for the new people tuning in on a Sunday night, you'd want something to draw them in and make them think "Oh, I want to watch THIS crime procedural over the other twenty-eight that are on the air." But that's just me.

I wanted to know what was going on with Jack and Anne. Did she decide to keep the baby? My guess would be yes - that when Jason Priestley held the gun on her, it made her really feel the reality of her situation and blah blah blah....Still, a definitive answer would have been nice. I don't think there was much doubt that she was going to keep the baby, anyway, so I guess I'm going on about nothing.

I'd already heard rumors about a Danny/Elena hookup, and I can see the seeds being sown for that as we speak. First there was Danny's comment in the finale, about being allowed to worry about Elena, and then on this episode, his gaze seemed to focus on her a little too long as she went over to talk to the little boy's parents. So yeah, I can see it happening. I don't mind it too much. It will give some actual depth to Elena, and let's face it, it's ridiculous to think that a guy like Danny Taylor is running around single. I'll wait and see how it goes, but so far, I'm okay with it. I'm guessing things will really break out into the open next week, though.

There seemed to be some tension between Jack and Sam. I wonder if it was just about the case or if there's something more? Like, the fact that he's with Anne and (possibly) having a baby? I kept waiting for the tension to come up last season and it never did. And from the looks of the finale, it's not like Jack and Anne were keeping their relationship a secret. So, yeah, I'm all for seeing Sam freak out a bit over this. And I didn't blame her one bit for being angry with Jack regarding Brian/Max. It's one thing if Jack is in there forcing the kid to relive bad moments and face up to things he doesn't want to....but he wasn't. Instead, he was pushing Sam to take the fall because he didn't want to wait around for a therapist. Who cares if the kid is scarred (worse) for life, right? I get that they needed answers as soon as possible in order to find Daniel, but you have to think about the kid you do have - the one you know for certain is still alive - too. Worst case scenario, they would pushed Brian/Max to his breaking point and then found out that Daniel was dead all along. What good would that have done?

I liked the actor who played Pratt. There was a slightly creepy undertone to his interactions with Brian, but it wasn't what you expected. To the naked eye, it really did look like typical father/son behavior. He didn't overplay it. I thought that was interesting.

I called the twist that Brian wasn't Pratt's kid as soon as he said his mother had "died" when he was really little. But I miscalcuated in regards to Pratt's cousin. As soon as they mentioned this woman he had been in touch with, I thought it would be Brian's mother and that, for whatever reason, she had allowed this horrible man to take over her son. But I was way off on that one.

I love Jake. Can we keep Jake? Because I love him. I'm sure I've seen the actor playing him somewhere before, but it's not clicking just yet. And I really liked his interactions with Calleigh. I hope he comes back, because they've got good chemistry and obviously unfinished business. Or he could just come back and smile at people - that'd be okay by me, too.

I have to roll my eyes a little at how they played up Calleigh's accident in the promos, and then it happened in the first five minutes of the show and she turned out fine. (I sort of expected her to take the evidence with her when she swam out, though). Ah, well. I will add that I liked how they staged the accident - it wasn't until they mentioned it that you realized someone had tried to run her off the road. At first, I assumed her tire had popped and thought "Oh, wow, all that for a flat tire? Damn." Then I thought maybe someone had shot out her wheel or something. So that was an interesting twist.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen Hawk's girlfriend be the mastermind behind everything. You knew all along it was going to be Hawk, so when it turned out to be Hawk....yeah, big deal. It would have been a better twist if the girlfriend - who they thought was just Hawk's puppet - was actually the one who set the entire deal up.

So basically, the wife is the one who caused the guy's death? Because she was suspicious and sneaking around, and it tipped off....that other guy....that maybe the dead man wasn't who he said he was? (Yeah, obviously, I was doing real good with names). That's sort of sad. I'm glad Calleigh didn't tell her that part, though. She didn't need to know it.

I see Delko and Natalia are still playing the flirting game. *sigh* I maintain that I'd like an explanation as to what happened with her and Ryan. Are we just forgetting that entire storyline took place? And I thought there was tension between her and Delko, due mostly to the fact that she WAS dating Ryan? Ugh. This storyline is still pissing me off. I guess not much has changed from last season in that respect.

Agent Lee finally got to let loose! Ha! That was great. I was actually disappointed when Mickey turned out to be the bad guy, only because I'd had so much fun watching him with Abby and Michelle. And on that note, I love the relationship between Abby and Michelle. Abby really loosens her up and makes her fun. I actually felt kind of bad when Tony called his little "secret" meeting with Ziva and McGee and she was left out. Aww.

And Lee and Gibbs are fun, too. She's so nervous around him, and as soon as he leaves, she's like "He hates me." Ha!

Joe Spano is a great actor. I thought so when he was on NYPD Blue, and I'm sure I've seen him on other stuff before. I liked his partnership with Gibbs (especially when they both deferred to Tony - ha!) and the fact that he was willing to admit they'd been wrong.

Speaking of being wrong...at the end there, I kept thinking that Paulson really was the killer, and that they were just focusing on Mickey in order to throw Paulson off. Yeah, I wasn't following too well. And like I said, I had high hopes that Mickey would stick around.

Okay, we've had All About Olivia and we've had All About Elliot. I can deal with that. Now let's share the love, okay? Yeah, I get the feeling this is going to be my battle cry for the entire season, once more. But I understand that they wanted to focus on Elliot, since they'd already focused on Olivia. I suppose a part of me would have been surprised if they hadn't. And hey, they even managed to reinsert the Stabler family, who's been MIA for way too long. So I was okay with it.

I liked Elliot's interactions with Janey. I think he admired her intelligence and determination, but at the same time, he was still in dad mode. As icky as the prospect of Janey and What's-His-Face was, there was nothing really that could be done about it. And I thought Janey's attorney was completely in the right for pointing out that Elliot was letting his own emotions play into this.

I couldn't dislike either of Janey's parents, even to her father. Yes, he went overboard, but he had his reasons for not wanting Janey to have anything to do with her mother. And at the same time, her mother deserved another chance. I could see the pros and cons when it came to both of them.

I love how Elliot is completely resistant to the idea of a new partner, because of course Olivia is coming back. And I love that Cragen seems to think the opposite, but doesn't want to push Elliot more than he has to. Aww. Papa Cragen loves his kids!

Randomly - is it just me, or has Casey been looking fantastic lately? Maybe it's because they're putting her all in black most of the time, instead of really random mismatched colors, I don't know.

So, yeah, all of that was a little pasted together, but....right. Maybe one of these days, I'll get my act together. Don't laugh! It might happen. Maybe....
