IWA!! Cannon-Hero!

It's amazing how easily it is to fall behind on keeping this up to date!

Friday, Sept. 2. I go to the Twins game. We lost 6-1. I left after 8 innings, and I missed the Twins score their only run. Grrrr.

Saturday, Sept. 3. My fantasy football draft. I really don't know football well anymore, but this league is with friends from college; it's a good excuse to get together and keep in touch. Good times.

From there, it was off to NIW. Another great show that night. Kid Krazy vs. Jimmy Jacobs was a show-stealer. A genuinely buzzworthy match; I hope it gets KK excited about wrestling, and makes him interested in traveling to take on other top-level talent. A really fun show.

The afterparty was a blast, as Joey, Krazy, Pun, V2, Sailer, Corbin, Page and I crammed into one both at Applebees. Much fun.

Sunday, Sept. 4. Becca & Kid Krazy & I went down to Faribault to check out the new Neo Pro building. The building was intriguing and in a good location. None of the matches were really bad, but nothing truely memorable either.

Monday, Sept. 5. It was my birthday! Yep, I'm 32 now. I went to the Twins game, and we lost again! We failed to score again! I'm now 6-12 in games I've gone to this year. UGH. From there, I went straight to the State Fair. I chatted briefly with THE BOSS, then I went to Switchfoot. Good concert. To my surprise, they didn't have an opening act, which was fine with me, because I still had to drive home that night, back to Chippewa Falls.

Skip through a boring workweek to...

Friday, Sept. 9. My traveling companions of Arik Cannon, Ann Thraxx and Ben Sailer meet me in Menomonie, and it's off to Midlothian!!! Travel has gotten significantly worse in the Chicago area, as new construction has begun in the past three weeks. A TREMENDOUS show. Cannon and Hero beat the heck out of each other. Good match, and Cannon was limping much of the night afterward.

Late night food at an IHOP, and conversation is had with Delirious, Sydal, Abercrombie and Punk. More fun times. We checked into our hotel at 3 a.m., and we crashed; we didn't even turn on the TV.

Saturday, Sept. 10. After checking out the local shopping area, it's off to Plymouth, Ind., for the final show of the weekend. Cannon wrestled in a tag match (and lost), Ann Thraxx took on Mickie Knuckles (and lost), and Ben Sailer made his IWA-MS debut (and lost.)

An ok show; a lot of new wrestlers who have a long way to go.

The drive home, for me, felt fast. We stopped in Beloit for tacos, at 3 a.m., and the place is ridiculously busy. I guess the late night bar crowd all decided to go to Taco Bell. This stop took too long. The trip home was really fun, as Cannon imparted some great wisdom on planning out matches. A neat conversation to just sit back and listen to. We finally get back to Menomonie at 6:50 a.m., and I'm home at 7:10 a.m. I only slept for four hours, to get up and watch the Vikes. Wow, was that a mistake.

Nothing else to report. No wrestling shows this weekend. Then, it's back to Indiana for TPI on Sept. 23!!
