Two fics (Cheyenne/Sugarfoot/Bronco, PG, gen)

I'm still overdue for a fic round-up over here--and may have to break it into separate posts by fandom--but here for a start are two fics I've recently written for the Warner Brothers TV Westerns Universe. Blanket warning for sensitive history regarding the Sioux and Northern Cheyenne nations between 1874 and 1876, which isn't necessarily depicted accurately in the shows.

Also, in case the timeline of the episodes referenced is confusing: there's a two-year gap in the events of "Gold, Glory, and Custer: Prelude" into which (IMO) "Legacy of the Lost" and (canonically) "Duel at Judas Basin" fall, in that order, even though those episodes come from later seasons. Sugarfoot is more serialized and thus does better with keeping a consistent timeline from one episode to the next, but Cheyenne and Bronco both jump from 1870 in one ep to 1876 the next, then to 1880, then back to 1866!

Title: Bequests, Birthrights, and Brothers
Author: San Antonio Rose (ramblin_rosie)
Rating: PG
Fandom: Cheyenne (cameos from Sugarfoot and Bronco)
Spoilers: Coda to 6.8 "Legacy of the Lost"; also some spoilers for 4.7 "Gold, Glory, and Custer: Prelude"
Genre: Angst, adventure, family
Pairing: Gen
Summary: Cheyenne may have failed to broker peace between Lionel Abbot and White Cloud, but he's about to discover that he does have a family after all--maybe more than one.
Note: Complete in three parts; each part links to the next.

( White Cloud is ill-it’s his heart. He calls for Grey Fox. )

Title: Happiness Is a Cold Nose
Author: San Antonio Rose (ramblin_rosie)
Rating: PG
Fandom: Cheyenne/Sugarfoot/Bronco
Spoilers: For the Cheyenne two-parter "Gold, Glory, and Custer" (4.7-8); also mild spoilers for the three-way crossover episode "Duel at Judas Basin" (Cheyenne 5.7)
Warning: Post-traumatic depression and survivor guilt
Genre: Hurt/comfort, friendship
Pairing: Gen
Type: One-shot (technically a sequel to "Bequests, Birthrights, and Brothers" but doesn't have to be read that way)
Summary: In the aftermath of the Little Bighorn, Tom and Bronco have found Cheyenne ill, injured, and isolated. They can help with the physical wounds, but the mental ones might require a different form of therapy.

( I ain't seen 'im like this since his pa died. )

rating: pg, fandom: cheyenne, author: ramblin_rosie, genre: cheyenne angst
