A nice Tuesday morning. That’s what Takaki thinks when he opens his eyes and stretches his arms. It’s his birthday after all. He can’t wait to reply all those messages and open the gifts, if there’s any. So before doing all of those, he gets up from the bed and does his morning routine first. His birthday should fill with positive things and vibes.
After taking a bath and having breakfast, Takaki reaches his phone from the drawer. He silenced his phone and saved it in the drawer on purpose so no one will disturb his sleep by sending him birthday greetings. Once he unlocked the screen, he sees so many messages and calls notifications. He grins, knowing who messaged and called him and what they’re going to say to him.
He checks his LINE and an unexpected amount of chats welcomed him. He knows it’s his birthday but why JUMP group chat exceeded 1000+? Are they too excited with his birthday? Somehow it makes him happy and curious. Did they talk about something in the group chat? He should’ve replied his family’s chat first but JUMP’s chat keeps coming, mentioning him, so he checks it first and reads from the first one.
Takaki smiles reading the greetings one by one but the more he scrolls, the more he gets worry. He reads Yamada said ‘Yabai’ then the members responded with random reactions. Most of them were saying his name like there’s something bad he did. And few chats after that… a photo of him with a girl appeared in the chat group and that freaks him out. He doesn’t know who’s that girl nor when that happened, but the photo is showing him topless with her laying on his chest, the girl’s face being blurred.
Takaki closes his eyes and tries to remember what he did recently. He didn’t remember doing things that’s against the rules. But why there’s a photo of him with that girl?! He’s sure he’s not doing any one night stand anymore! But… Takaki tries to remember again. Did he go out with that girl from the bar when he’s drunk? But he wasn’t going to the bar lately and if that happened, he’ll be going with his friends or the members. He’s sure when he woke up, no one slept beside him. But again… who is she?! Was he that terrible when he’s drunk until he doesn’t remember even a slightest clue? A ring from his phone almost success to make his heart jumps from its place. Without seeing the caller ID, he swipes the screen and answers the call.
“OMG! Takaki! Just what did you do?!” from the voice, he knows that’s Inoo calling him.
“I-I don’t know… I don’t have an idea who’s-”
“Okay. I don’t need your excuses. Come to the office now and make sure no one recognize you! All the reporters are surrounding the office!” scolded Inoo and ended the call without giving Takaki time to reply. With a heavy sigh, he drags himself out of his apartment with a mask, hat, and sunglasses to cover his face.

After a really hard time to get inside the building, Takaki finds his way to go to Johnny-san’s office. He should confirm about this misunderstanding first before it gets worse. When he wants to hold the door knob, the door opens by his manager. He asks Takaki to move then closes the door.
“You better don’t meet him now” warned him with serious tone.
“Wh-why? I should tell hi-” Takaki exclaimed but cut by his manager.
“I’ve talked to Johnny-san. He said he doesn’t want to see you. He’s so mad right now” said his manager with concern look.
“God… What have I done…” Takaki’s legs are trembling and he feels like falling to the floor.
“Don’t worry. Johnny-san will handle it well. Now let’s go to the dressing room, your friends are waiting for you” said the manager and brought him to JUMP dressing room. Once he arrived, he welcomed by the worry look of them.
“How? Did Johnny-san say something?” asked Daiki in concern.
“He did. A lot” answered the manager. All the members look at their manager questioningly.
“He said to me, not him” the members nod with an ‘O’ shaped mouth.
“So you haven’t met him?” asked Chinen.
“Manager-san didn’t let me” answered Takaki weakly.
“Come on, Yuya. Sit here” Yamada pulled Takaki’s hand and brought him to the sofa while their manager goes to Johnny-san’s office again.
“Now close your eyes and remember if recently or at least a year ago, you ever slept with a girl?” Yamada asked. Takaki does as Yamada said and tries to remember again.
“No, no one” answered Takaki so sure while shaking his head.
“Did you go to a bar alone recently?” now it’s Yuto’s turn to ask.
“No. Only with you guys or my friends” answered Takaki again. His eyes are still closed.
“Did your friends ever leave you alone in the bar?” asked Hikaru.
“I don’t think so” Takaki bites his lower lip because he’s not sure.
“You don’t think so?” Yabu raised his left eyebrow.
“Because… when I woke up, I’m always on my bed alone. I don’t think they’ll leave me or I hooked up with a girl I met in the bar” explained Takaki desperately.
“Now you can open your eyes” said Yamada. As he opened his eyes, his manager enters their room again with a concern look.
“Takaki…” he said in a sad tone.
“Ye-yes?” Takaki gulped.
“Maybe your career will end here but let’s wait for his decision” said the manager. Takaki loses his breath. It supposes to be a nice birthday since it’s his last twenties but why it turns out like this?!
“Wh-what do you mean?!” shouted Takaki in fear.
“Guys…” the manager motioned them to come to him except Takaki. He showed them a video of Takaki going out of the bar with that girl.
“Oh… My… God…” Inoo gasps.
“Someone sent it to Johnny-san and said will leak it if we don’t pay for such amount he asked.
“What?! What’s that?!" Takaki shouted, both worry and curious.
“No! You shouldn’t see!” forbids Daiki.
“It’ll break your heart if you see it” said Yuto in a soft tone, afraid it’ll hurt Takaki’s heart.
Takaki curses. Why is this happening to him in his birthday?! It should be a great birthday to him but that person ruins it! Did that person hate him so much?! With a not so many energy left, Takaki walks to the corner and sit there. Hugging his knees and burying his head between it. Hoping it’s just a dream and he’ll wake up soon.
“Takaki…” Daiki walks to him and bends his body a bit, patting his shoulder.
“Happy birthday~” Daiki whispered in a calm tone. Takaki turns his head towards him, was about to sob and hug him when he sees what behind him.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAKAKI!” shouted the members and his manager who brought a cake for him. Takaki stutters. He doesn’t know what to say. Is it how they cheer him from all this scandal?
“Th-thank you… but I’m not the mood for it right now…” Takaki tries to form a smile.
“Why? Because of this girl?” Daiki puts a long wavy wig.
“Do-don’t say…” Takaki’s eyes widen and he covers his opened mouth as he saw Daiki’s look with that wig.
“Yes~ it was me~” Daiki giggled, innocently.
“We’ve prepared this prank since last year and it’s a big success!” shouted Hikaru satisfiedly.
“B-but… what about the reporters?!” asked Takaki furiously.
“We asked some people to help us. Of course we pay them” Inoo answered in a flat tone.
“Ah~ I’m glad it’s success!” Yamada sighed in relief.
“Sorry to make you feel miserable, Takaki-kun. But now~ let’s party!” shouted Yuto. They prepare the food on the table while Takaki still can’t proceed what had just happened. They pranked him that bad and just let it go?!
“Come on Takaki~ it’s your birthday!” Daiki pulled his arm and asked him to join them. Takaki stares at the person in front of him annoyedly. How dare he plays innocent like this and not feeling guilty all. He should give punishment to this little guy. So Takaki pulls him back and whispers to him.
“See what I’m going to do with you tonight” Takaki whispered right in his ear with evillish tone. Daiki gulps and hope he can run away tonight.
