Um. I actually recorded something. Huh.

The top one is the new one--Azulao.
So life is chugging along.

Little M is doing... OK, I guess. He's starting to get behind, developmentally, so that's scary. On the other hand, they started taking him to a chiropractor when someone mentioned that seizures can trigger migraines (which can trigger seizures--you see where this is going), and that seems to be helping? His poor little baby neck was all stressed and tight and out of whack. He's started cooing again, and it's been awhile since he was able to do that, so that's an improvement. All fingers crossed. He continues to be adorable and beloved.

On a random note: I've been trying to make diet cherry cola, since I can't have Nutrasweet, and they don't sell Diet Rite Cherry Cola (with Splenda) here. My friend Lori recommended Torani, which is pretty good, but it has its own Splenda, so between that and the Diet Rite, it's a bit much.

So I thought--cherry Kool Aid! Yes, it's a toxic abomination, but this is diet pop we're talking about here--it's not like I'm defiling something pure and natural. Anyway, I learned three things:

1. If you use just a little (about half a teaspoon of unsweetened Kool Aid per 2 liter bottle), it actually works. And tastes good. For various values of 'good', I'm sure, but I like it.

2. Kool Aid in diet pop is sort of like a slower, more relentless version of the Mentos/Diet Coke thing. If you get the top back on fast, it's all good. If not--at first it looks fine, but in a few seconds you have a flood of red foamy diet pop spreading over the counter. It'll foam away most of the bottle if you let it.

3. Kool Aid stains for real (you can use it to dye yarn, so...)--and apparently diet pop is some kind of dye activator for it, because the hand I spilled it on had a swath of bright red that took three hand washes and the next day's shower to start to fade. Looked like I'd drawn on myself with a red Sharpie.

Wish I'd had a camera with me, it was pretty funny. The new floor was spared, by the way, and the counter cleaned up just fine.
