When I first joined lj a couple of years back i joined some group that aimed to read 52 books in a year and quickly fell behind and gave up.
When I found out that I was gonna lose my job at Borders I figured that with loads of new books and time on my hands 2010 might just be the right time to try again. However, I was too impatient to wait for the new year and instead I started on Christmas eve...
So here are the books I've read so far...
1. Martin Amis-Night Train. A slight novella from the modern master of English letters.
2. Will Self-Tough Tough Toys For Tough Tough Boys. A hit and miss short stories collection
3. Herman Hesse-Steppenwolf. A fascinating read and the best book I've yet read for my book club.
4. Anthony McGowan-Henry Tumour. A fun teen book that has won prizes but is a bit too knowing and clever for its own good if you ask me.(Says the Martin Amis and Will Self fan).
5. Shawn Michaels and Triple H-Are You Ready?: The unofficial history of DX. A suitably fun, irreverant restrospective of the WWE tag team from the horses' mouths. Leaves questions unanswered.
Erm, that's it so far...Just about on target, not very impressive. Still, I have continued with a few books that I started before the Xmas eve starting point and started a couple more that I have yet to finish so those five books have not been my only reading this month. Gotta re-read Catch 22 for next months book group and we all know that one's a bit hefty but we'll see how I get on...
