Buffy sat nervously behind the wheel of a car with her fake driver's license. Fake in the fact that she needed a different identity, but also fake because she never actually passed her driving test. Okay, so she was pretty excited to drive all by herself--probably to the horror of both Willow and Xander because, well, last time she had practically crashed her mom's jeep. But, that was so long ago. Her driving skills had to have improved by now, right ( ... )

As aggravated as she was about being out here, she couldn't help but smile when she saw Buffy's car coming toward her. Of course, part of the idea of Buffy driving scared the living daylights out of her. She wasn't sure Buffy had ever gotten a real license. Besides, her driving sucked way hard. At least now she would have someone to talk to, though. Something to distract her from the mosquitoes and what she was pretty sure was a wolf in the distance ( ... )

Buffy was surprised by Dawn's cheerfulness, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise. Then again, if she was giantess sitting out in the middle of nowhere with no one but bugs and trees to talk to, she'd be pretty excited about visitors, too ( ... )

Dawn's cheerfulness mostly related to the fact that Buffy was the only person that she had seen in a while. Well, other than the few people that she could spy on from her vantage point. However, she wasn't allowed to talk to them at all. They might tattle on her or her sister. Plus, she might turn into a government experiment with them trying to find out more about magic. She didn't want to turn into an alien autopsy ( ... )

Buffy wanted to frown and empathize with her giant sister, but it was hard not to see the slight comedy in it all. Her sister was a giant living in the woods. Considering she desired to be such a normal girl, this was pretty ironic. Instead of partying it up in New Orleans, she was getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Maybe Buffy preferred it this way....at least nothing could harm her when she could squash any demons with her pinky. Unless she met a giant demon. But, they'd all see that coming. Like Godzilla--oh god, she'd been around Andrew too much if her brain just thought of Godzilla. Thank goodness he wasn't around to infect her with more nerddom. But, then there was still Xander ( ... )

"I think it's always kind of buggy around here. The heat and water kind of attracts them." Dawn would be relieved to just have one night's reprieve from them, though. At least in Scotland they didn't have mosquitoes. Could she even still catch the West Nile virus when she was a giant like this? Her immune system was probably the same, since her strength was pretty much the same. That still totally sucked ( ... )

Buffy smiled slightly, "Very true. I gotta say, I kinda miss the old usual. Especially the part where the world doesn't think we're all evil and vampires are cuddly teddy bears. Or, you know, even better; when the world didn't even know we existed." That'd probably be preferable ( ... )

"I'd just be happy if we didn't have to hide in the middle of nowhere right now," Dawn said with a sigh. Sure, she'd love to be not a freaking giantess, but Scotland was better than here. Scotland wasn't full of bugs, and she wasn't reminded as much of what she was missing by being so huge and freakish. New Orleans wasn't that far away, with plenty of people her age having a good time and partying it up. While Buffy might be glad that she wasn't with the party crowd, she still would have liked to at least be going to school right now or something ( ... )

Buffy leaned back on her palms, "I know what you mean. We had a good thing going back in Scotland, so it does suck that we had to move away. But, there weren't any Hellmouths over there, so duty calls, as usual." Luckily, the Hellmouth beneath New Orleans seemed to be quiet for the time being. Unless the vampire rights was part of its plan. Who knew?

She let out a light laugh, "I'm actually surprised you don't want to step on me. I guess now I can't pretend you're not taller than me," she joked, knowing she had consistently tried to pretend that, because she was older, she was automatically taller, even though her sister shot up like a tree as she matured. However, she never expected her to get that tall ( ... )

"No, no Hellmouths," Dawn agreed. It was actually kind of part of what she liked about it. Of course, that meant that Buffy and the others kind of had to leave from time to time to go off and do something, but it had been nice to have a headquarters somewhere that wasn't the center of evil, at least. Too bad that was pretty much gone forever ( ... )

Buffy smiled up at her sister, glad she wasn't holding the giantess thing against her. Her sister really was growing up. Maturity wise, that is. She had already grown a little too tall. "Very true. Maybe I'll send Xander out tomorrow. It's been a while since you two saw each other." Not that it was hard to not see Dawn, of course ( ... )

"Nope, no stealing sweaters for me right now," Dawn said to her. Dawn really couldn't hold the giantess thing against Buffy. No, honestly, this was really her fault, but she wasn't sure how much she should say to Buffy. Buffy might yell at her for being so thoughtless ( ... )

"I was gonna say," Buffy said, "Dating a giant might be something you'd notice. But, I've never heard of a thricewise. I'll have Willow bring you your food tomorrow. Maybe she can bring some answers," she agreed, as she clearly was not that well-versed in the details of what went on in her weird world. Maybe she should have studied that Slayer's Handbook, after all ( ... )

"Willow might know something," Dawn said. Willow had plenty of witchy books and stuff, so she might be able to look something up for her. Dawn had just sort of assumed it was some kind of demon thing when Kenny told her, and kind of set it aside. It wasn't as if she wasn't totally brought up in a world filled with demons and vampires. Kenny was cute, so dating a thricewise didn't sound too bad ( ... )
