Buffy smiled up at her sister, glad she wasn't holding the giantess thing against her. Her sister really was growing up. Maturity wise, that is. She had already grown a little too tall. "Very true. Maybe I'll send Xander out tomorrow. It's been a while since you two saw each other." Not that it was hard to not see Dawn, of course.

"A very cute giant," she agreed. "At least now you can't steal my sweaters," she joked, with a wry smile. She was trying to help her sister find some sort of silver lining in all of this insanity. But, the silver lining seemed to be just out of reach for all of them.

As Dawn gave her a little backstory, Buffy gaped at her sister, mouth hanging open. First of all, she had no idea her sister was dating someone and second of all, why in the world would he sister date something called a 'thricewise'? Even in regular terms, that sounded pretty terrifying and Buffy was pretty skilled in the bedroom, which she knew...or thought her sister was not.

"So...who was this boy?" Of course, Buffy had been much too busy trying to wrangle up countless slayers and ward off the government to pay too much attention to her sister's dating life. She was kicking herself for it now. "And if he was a thricewise, and I hope that means the supernatural way and not the way my sex-starved brain is thinking, he must be a giant, too."

She wondered if the boy could change back from a giant to a regular guy because she had a feeling it'd be hard to be on a date with a real giant. "Do you think he did this to you so you two could live happily ever after?"

"Nope, no stealing sweaters for me right now," Dawn said to her. Dawn really couldn't hold the giantess thing against Buffy. No, honestly, this was really her fault, but she wasn't sure how much she should say to Buffy. Buffy might yell at her for being so thoughtless.

It seemed she was already shocked that she was even dating. Of course Buffy had been all wrapped up in finding Slayers and training them and then doing things like getting money and then trying to hide everyone when the world decided to really crash down around them.

"No, he wasn't a giant. Or at least, he looked like a normal sized guy. I think a thricewise might be some sort of demon or magic wielding person. Willow might know more about it, or...never mind." She almost said Giles there. Bad move.

"His name is Kenny and I went to school with him until, well, I had to come home because I grew three feet in a day and knew something was wrong." It hadn't quite been overnight that she had turned into a giant. More like a week. She seemed to shoot up more each day. After the first three feet, she had jumped on a plane back to Scotland, and had grown another six inches during the flight. So not fun.

"I don't think he did this to be nice, Buffy," Dawn said. "We...we had a bad break up." That was being honest without being too honest, wasn't it? Enough to get by, anyway.

"I was gonna say," Buffy said, "Dating a giant might be something you'd notice. But, I've never heard of a thricewise. I'll have Willow bring you your food tomorrow. Maybe she can bring some answers," she agreed, as she clearly was not that well-versed in the details of what went on in her weird world. Maybe she should have studied that Slayer's Handbook, after all.

Listening to Dawn's story, she felt her brows furrow, though she nodded along, "So you think Kenny did it, then?" She just wanted to be clear. And suddenly, her anger for this boy grew tantamount. She wanted to find this boy and wring his possibly large neck for doing this to her sister.

But, of course, it was just their luck. Neither of the Summers girls could ever have a normal love life. She was really hoping Dawn wouldn't see her as a guide on who to date and what to do in relationships because Buffy really had a horrible track record. Then again, Dawn's was catching up to her; first real date with a vampire and now a thricewise? And that was only the boys Buffy knew about.

She frowned, knowing Dawn wanted to end the story, but Buffy was desperate to know more. She knew Dawn always wanted someone to listen to her, to not go away, so here she was totally prepared to listen, despite her own extreme curiosity about her baby sister's love life. "Bad, how? I'm the expert on bad break-ups here. So, maybe I could help, see why he did this. He didn't lose his soul after something you are way too young to do happened, did he?" she eyed her sister curiously, which was hard to do, given her much larger size.

"Willow might know something," Dawn said. Willow had plenty of witchy books and stuff, so she might be able to look something up for her. Dawn had just sort of assumed it was some kind of demon thing when Kenny told her, and kind of set it aside. It wasn't as if she wasn't totally brought up in a world filled with demons and vampires. Kenny was cute, so dating a thricewise didn't sound too bad.

"Well, I tend to think that he had something to do with it," Dawn told her. Not that she didn't bring it on herself. Dawn felt that way, anyway. It wasn't as if she had asked to be turned into a giant, but she certainly hadn't treated Kenny the way he deserved to be treated.

Which, of course, would lead Buffy to want to know more about what had happened. Dawn was sort of embarrassed to admit to what happened. She thought that her big sister would look down on her for what she did. It wasn't like she had planned to do wrong. It just...sort of happened. She had thought she was doing the right thing by coming clean to Kenny right away. Being an adult about it.

Yeah, right. Being an adult sucks.

"You promise you won't get mad at me?" Dawn asked Buffy. Even though she was looking down on her big sister, she was definitely looking to Buffy for some reassurance right now.
