Who: Dawn and Anyone Who Comes to Visit Her Where: Out in the Country Where She is Hiding When: Just After Nightfall What: Dawn is lonely all out by herself. Status: Complete
"I was gonna say," Buffy said, "Dating a giant might be something you'd notice. But, I've never heard of a thricewise. I'll have Willow bring you your food tomorrow. Maybe she can bring some answers," she agreed, as she clearly was not that well-versed in the details of what went on in her weird world. Maybe she should have studied that Slayer's Handbook, after all.
Listening to Dawn's story, she felt her brows furrow, though she nodded along, "So you think Kenny did it, then?" She just wanted to be clear. And suddenly, her anger for this boy grew tantamount. She wanted to find this boy and wring his possibly large neck for doing this to her sister.
But, of course, it was just their luck. Neither of the Summers girls could ever have a normal love life. She was really hoping Dawn wouldn't see her as a guide on who to date and what to do in relationships because Buffy really had a horrible track record. Then again, Dawn's was catching up to her; first real date with a vampire and now a thricewise? And that was only the boys Buffy knew about.
She frowned, knowing Dawn wanted to end the story, but Buffy was desperate to know more. She knew Dawn always wanted someone to listen to her, to not go away, so here she was totally prepared to listen, despite her own extreme curiosity about her baby sister's love life. "Bad, how? I'm the expert on bad break-ups here. So, maybe I could help, see why he did this. He didn't lose his soul after something you are way too young to do happened, did he?" she eyed her sister curiously, which was hard to do, given her much larger size.
"Willow might know something," Dawn said. Willow had plenty of witchy books and stuff, so she might be able to look something up for her. Dawn had just sort of assumed it was some kind of demon thing when Kenny told her, and kind of set it aside. It wasn't as if she wasn't totally brought up in a world filled with demons and vampires. Kenny was cute, so dating a thricewise didn't sound too bad.
"Well, I tend to think that he had something to do with it," Dawn told her. Not that she didn't bring it on herself. Dawn felt that way, anyway. It wasn't as if she had asked to be turned into a giant, but she certainly hadn't treated Kenny the way he deserved to be treated.
Which, of course, would lead Buffy to want to know more about what had happened. Dawn was sort of embarrassed to admit to what happened. She thought that her big sister would look down on her for what she did. It wasn't like she had planned to do wrong. It just...sort of happened. She had thought she was doing the right thing by coming clean to Kenny right away. Being an adult about it.
Yeah, right. Being an adult sucks.
"You promise you won't get mad at me?" Dawn asked Buffy. Even though she was looking down on her big sister, she was definitely looking to Buffy for some reassurance right now.
