I'm torn between Terra and Vivi. They're both very sweet people and loyal to their friends; at the same time, they'd be more willing to let you play leader. I would say they're two very reliable characters, and I can see both of them going through the inner conflict that you described

I could see a little Aerith, but overall I could really see Terra as your bff. She would be reliable and loyal, and she's more of a follower. A lot of your you've been a friend to me answers reminded me of her too! :)

I thought of many characters... everyone from Locke to Laguna. Overall, I'm not entirely confident with this vote, but I agree with Vivi. You placed a pretty high emphasis on humor, and many of the characters with follower personalities don't have much of a sense of humor... at least Vivi would be willing to give it a chance and does show aspects of humor from time to time. He'd also be more likely to protect his home (if he truly had one), is the type to have a few close friends instead of a lot of distant ones, and if he got mixed up on "the wrong side," he would indeed be very confused and conflicted about it. Unless all of the guards happened to be small black mages, it would be difficult for him to stealthily help you escape that part made me think of many thief and pirate type characters, but he fits everything else just about perfectly. He's also trusting, loyal, would never let a rivalry get to extremes, is respectful of he opinions of others, and I can really see him agreeing with your idea of friendship. Overall, I think he'

Mel Brooks = win. I think I want to go with Aerith for your BFF. Considering her interaction with Cloud, she clearly doesn't have a problem with people that seem intimidating. I think she has in common with you a belief that people should at least be respectful of others, and she has a sense of humor (maybe hanging out with her isn't a lolathon, but the sense of humor is there). She's definitely reliable and loyal, and I don't see her as a non-trusting sort, either. I can see her engaging in some friendly rivalry, but not taking it to extremes. What cinched it for me was the dressing up in disguise and helping you escape part - I can definitely see Aerith doing that. :D

Hi, sis! Since you voted on me...I'm here to return the favor! :D I could see quite a few different characters as being possible BFFs for you (Arc, Luneth, Desch, Ramza, Mustadio, Tidus, Aerith, Terra, Vivi, Laguna, Kiros, Cecil, Edge, Ceodore, Porom's character from FFIV: The After Years, Bartz, and Cornelia...just to name a few!)--but I think I'm going to go in a completely different and some might say obscure direction with my vote and say Reks, Vaan's older brother in FFXIIWhile you only play as Reks in that game for the introductory phase--I think many of his personality traits could mesh with your own quite nicely. He's somewhat soft-spoken and a little shy, but he's got a good heart. He's incredibly respectful of just about everyone he meets, and he's very responsible too (he was taking care of a young boy on his own when he was little more than a kid himself, after all).
