Does the gender of your BFF matter?: Nope! Whoever you think is the best fit is fine with me. :D
If this is a restamp, please indicate who you were stamped with and why you are reapplying.: N/A!
You say up, I say down.
Define friendship in your own words.: I think of friendship as a voluntary bond that can have the same characteristics of a close familial one. Sort of like a sibling you get to pick on your own, I guess! A true friend is always there for you, is always caring...there is a spiritual/emotional/psychological connection that allows two people to become friends. As corny as it sounds, I think a true friend is the person who will always have your back or be there when you need someone to lean on.
Are you the type of person to have many friends who aren't quite as close, or very few but very close friends?: I guess I lean more towards the "very few but close" spectrum. I have quite a few acquaintances, but I don't necessarily consider them close friends by any means. I don't really like throwing the term "friend" around for some reason, lolz!
As an extention of the previous question, do you make friends easily?: I have been told that at first I can come across as intimidating and then once I open up more I have a very friendly and easy going personality...once I get past my initial "barrier" I want to try to be friendly with people and I find it easier to make friends that way! :D
Tell us about some of your interests and beliefs. Is it important for you to have these in common with your friends?: I like dorky things like anime/manga/video games, going to the movies, reading books, listening to music, etc. As far as my beliefs go, I believe that people should always at least be respectful of others: treat others as you would want to be treated. I don't take kindly to people who are jerks to others for no real reason, and it really bothers me when others take advantage of someone's kindness or trust. I like laughing and I want to be happy. ...Do my friends have to have these traits in common with me? Not really. I have friends who aren't into my same hobbies...I mean, it is nice to have interests in common to at least talk about, but I don't consider it vital in the grand scheme of things. I do, however, think any friend of mine has to at least be respectful. If I think someone is a rude jerk, odds are good I'm not going to get along with them really well! O_O; ...Also, at least have a little bit of a sense of humor (any kind will do!). I like laughing and silly comedies too much to be friends with someone who can't even appreciate a joke (seriously, I want to know they'll laugh at Mel Brooks' movies with me, at least! :D).
Describe the relationship you have with your current best friend.: Well, I guess that would be my sister, Yin *cue corny music*. We're pretty close! I've kind of always looked out for her and, even though I might not be the best person at giving advice, she always comes to me when she has problems. We like to hang out and we'll discuss pretty much anything together! We actually do fight a lot (and they can be pretty bad since we know how to push each other's buttons!), but we tend to make up pretty fast. We know each other pretty well, and while we're somewhat different personality-wise, we like a lot of the same things too. :D
And I ain't too proud to say...
Name five of your positive traits.: Determined/Hard-Working/Stubborn, Curious, Loyal/Reliable, Humorous, and Independent.
Name five of your negative traits.: Untrusting, Jealous, Unforgiving, Indecisive, Independent (I consider this both a positive and negative trait of mine. It's positive in that I can handle things on my own and I look out for myself...it's negative because I feel like relying on others is a weakness, even in cases when it's obvious I need to {like when I'm stressed out for taking too much on myself}. I won't ask for help even when I need it because I rely too much on myself and not enough on others. I'm working on that too though).
Which of these traits, if any, do you like to have in common with your friends and which do you not?: Reliable/Loyal, maybe? Not like a dog or anything (seriously, I don't mean they have to follow me around all the time or something!)...but, since it is hard for me to trust and let people in, I would like to have a friend that is someone I'd feel like I could rely on. It would be easier for me to learn to trust them that way! As for a trait I wouldn't want them to have...well, if they too were untrusting, we'd probably not get very far! So, I think I'd like them to be more trusting than me in the long run. :D
Is rivalry acceptable in a friendship for you?: Sure! I'm such a jealous and stubborn person, I would almost kind of expect it in most of my friendships (uh, let's just not take it to any huge extremes!).
In your group of friends, what role (e.g. the leader, the prankster, the sweet one, etc.) do you tend to play?: The leader or the one that people like to rely on. I like looking out for others when I can.
You've been a friend to me.
A great and terrible war has been waging for years, slowly taking towns one by one. Many have fleed, taking to lives of crime, revolution, opportunity... Others have picked sides, choosing to fight for their beliefs. The rest remain in their village, waiting to protect their homes with everything they've got. In the grand scheme of things, where do you see you and your friend?: Probably waiting to protect our homes, although we might try and find an opportunity to improve life in the village somehow by taking a more direct approach in the fight should the opportunity present itself.
It seems one of the armies have captured you for reasons they neglect to enlighten you with. You do happen to overhear them saying they're going to feed you and your friend to the antlion, which means - you guessed it! - escape sequence time. Tell us how you and your friend escape death's clutches. Be creative!: My friend dresses up in disguise, sneaks into where I am being held captive, and stealthily helps me escape. Of course, by that time their cover is blown and we will resort to Plan B: Run-As-Fast-As-We-Can-While-Kicking-As-Much-Butt-As-Possible. Then cue fancy acrobatic moves into the first flying vehicle we can find with the keys we yanked from the guards and recklessly fly the heck out of there!
Bummer. Despite your efforts, the leader of said army has come and put a complete halt to your shenanigans. However, they're actually impressed with your skill and want to enlist you as high-ranking generals in their army. Your friend is worried that if you and them decline, you'll be killed on the spot; they seem more inclined towards accepting the deal. On the other hand, this army did just try to kill you because you happened to be standing nearby. What do you decide?: I wouldn't do it. Obviously, I wouldn't agree much with their methods (since, about ten seconds ago they were sort of trying to off me O_O;). I couldn't work under blackmail conditions like that anyways!
Well, whatever you decided is pretty much a moot point now. For some reason, the leader of that army decided they wanted your friend, not you. Through some charm and quite possibly some mind tricks, they turn your friend against you. What are you going to do now?: ...I'd try to reason with them for a few minutes and if that doesn't work, I'd have to try stopping them with force. I'd use as little as possible though...just enough to get them to stop, not to seriously hurt them! Heck, if I had access to spells I'd probably try all of that Time Magic stuff on them (like Stop or Slow).
And what about your friend? Is this some clever ruse to get on the inside? Are they possessed? Are they truly out to get on the "winning" side? Give us your thoughts on what might make your friend pull something like this.: I imagine my friend would be someone more conflicted about their role in everything...they want to do the right thing for those they care about, but they're unsure what that might be and are possibly a little more gullible than I am. They'd be more willing to believe that maybe this *was* the right path since it seemed to offer them more solutions, but that deep down they're conflicted because they aren't 100% sure about anything anymore.
After some drama and many hardships, you and your friend are eventually reunited just in time for the final boss fight. How does the reunion go? Is it bittersweet, pure joy, angry-- something else entirely?: It would probably be a mix...bittersweet that we had to reunite at a time like this; sad that we were separated at all; grateful that we were able to be friends again; and angry that we fought each other in general.
Finally, the credits are rolling and giving some insight on the whereabouts of everyone after saving the world. Where are you and your friend?: We'd probably go our separate ways at first and maybe the ending would show us being off on our own to each sort things out...and then, after the credits, there would be a scene of us meeting again all smiley and everything after our respective journeys. :D Haha, I'm corny when I try to be creative! O_O;
A godsend to me.
