Happy 4th of July

Much like cities across the country tonight, ours has plentiful illegal fireworks. Aaron loves them and it's nice to get a good show without having to leave the house. It's not great for animals, people with PTSD or sensory disorders, or anyone trying to sleep. Except Alex. He's sleeping right through them right now. We didn't get any pictures this year, but this is a picture of neighborhood fireworks from last year.

This morning we went to a park Alex had never been to before with equipment for younger kids and for older kids/adults. It was nice having an extra set of eyes on Alex because I got to enjoy it too. Aaron commented about how the equipment was a good demonstration of the conservation of angular momentum. Hmmm. I just call it the spinney thing. "Well yeah, same thing. I think it's Newton's third law of spinney things." It's far away and doesn't have bathrooms so that was the downside, but it was so much fun that I think we'll go back again soon.

Alex is now at the age where socialization is getting to be more important so I'm having to force myself to take him out more. We're supposed to go to a playdate tomorrow afternoon and then a summer bash pool party on Saturday. I have all kinds of anxiety about having to socialize, but hopefully I'll get through it without being too overloaded and hopefully Alex with have fun.

I hope everyone has/had a safe and fun 4th of July!
