You know you really need to move when...
I got a ride home from the TNG munch with roopurt, to find dozens of firefighters and police on my front lawn. Apparently, the abandoned building next to mine had its roof and part of the back of the building collapse just before I got home. The building is so unstable, that they evacuated everyone from the building next door, where I live, until the building can be taken down or is declared safe enough that it won't collapse and send bricks through my windows.
Tonight I'm staying at littleminx 's house, awaiting word from the building inspector on whether or not I get to go home tomorrow.

We spent a few hours watching/flirting with the firemen, then pulled out a couple folding chairs and sat in the parking lot behind her apartment, watching them use the big fire ladder to check out the damage to the roof. It was cool.
I'd been hearing noises from the building like falling bricks and stuff for a few weeks, but I'd just thought it was the neighbourhood crackheads fooling around inside. Looks like it was the giant crack in the wall next to my window!!
Hope I get to go home tomorrow. I planned to do laundry!
Look for footage of us on CP24... the camera guy got me carrying a laundry basket of stuff out of ny front door, talking to the fire chief and on the phone to my mom. Sorry for smiling so much - I'm sure an unhappy looking homeless girl makes better news than a giddy one, but how often do you get evacuated from your apartment by hot firefighters?!?!?!?!?!
