She anxious for Oliver to get to the Watchtower for two reasons, one, she wanted to hear about his plan, and she had the feeling it was going to be pretty similar to her own, and two, because she was starving and he had promised to bring her chinese ( Read more... )

"Honey, I'm home," he joked as he stepped into the Watchtower. He grinned at her and lifted up the bag of food he'd brought from the Chinese place a few blocks away.

Chloe grinned a little and stretched her arms in front of herself, "took you long enough," she teased back then started towards the couch, "not only were you keeping me hungry but also curious."

"You only love me cause I bring you food," he teased with a smirk as he gave her the bag.

Taking the bag, she sat down and started pulling the take out boxes out, "and answer my questions," she nodded, smirking in agreement.

Oliver nodded in agreement, taking another bite of food before turning to look at her. "Bart's in Mexico. Shocking, I know." He grinned a bit.

With a disapproving look, she made a face, nodding, "figures, he really should pick places with cell reception. I've been trying to contact him since last night."

At that, he frowned a little. "You have?" He'd been around the previous night, but she hadn't said anything.

"After you went to bed, I thought of this, so I called him, but since he didn't answer I figured I'd try again today, when I didn't get him, I started getting worried," she looked at him and shrugged a little, "it wouldn't have been the first time someone took him."

He drew in a breath. "All right. We'll just gather as much of it as we can and store it in lead boxes in the shelters."

Chloe frowned a little, "I was thinking more like a huge lead vault in one particular location and when, if things start getting ugly, we'll spread it out," she paused and watched him, "we need to protect Clark while we can, we both know what happens if he loses his powers and Zod and the others get theirs."

"No. If and when that happens, there won't be time to spread it around, Chloe."

"That's why we're keeping an eye on them, Oliver, we know the location of the towers, if they start to go up and we can't help it, we will power up the shelters," with a deep breath, she shook her head, "I don't know what choices Clark is going to make if it comes down to it, and I can't speak for him, but we both know that he's the most powerful weapon we've got right now and we can't weaken him."

Chloe pursed her lips and held his gaze, "when it comes down to it, no matter how prepared we try to be, we're only humans, Oliver and this is much bigger than the two of us."

He glanced up at her, his expression softening a little. "I know. That's why I'll talk to him."

After looking at him for a moment, she gave him a quick nod then moved to sit down next to him once more, picking up her food again, "the biggest concentration of meteor rocks in Smallville are on Crater Lake and on the Creekside Foundry."

He nodded slightly. He had known about Crater Lake a couple years ago--A.C. had filled him. But he hadn't known about the other. "I'll call the gang in to help out."

"We need to be careful," she told him, "better if they don't hear about this at all, if they know we're extracting kryptonite, I have no doubt Tess will figure out we're up to something."

After a second, she squinted, "and maybe, while we're at it, we should try and get rid of all the red kryptonite too."

He nodded in return, taking a bite of the food, chewing and swallowing. "We always do."

After watching him for a moment, she smiled softly, "Somehow." She agreed.

He glanced at her sideways, then reached out and rested a hand on her arm, giving it a gentle squeeze.
