She anxious for Oliver to get to the Watchtower for two reasons, one, she wanted to hear about his plan, and she had the feeling it was going to be pretty similar to her own, and two, because she was starving and he had promised to bring her chinese

He drew in a breath. "All right. We'll just gather as much of it as we can and store it in lead boxes in the shelters."

Chloe frowned a little, "I was thinking more like a huge lead vault in one particular location and when, if things start getting ugly, we'll spread it out," she paused and watched him, "we need to protect Clark while we can, we both know what happens if he loses his powers and Zod and the others get theirs."

"No. If and when that happens, there won't be time to spread it around, Chloe."

"That's why we're keeping an eye on them, Oliver, we know the location of the towers, if they start to go up and we can't help it, we will power up the shelters," with a deep breath, she shook her head, "I don't know what choices Clark is going to make if it comes down to it, and I can't speak for him, but we both know that he's the most powerful weapon we've got right now and we can't weaken him."

Chloe pursed her lips and held his gaze, "when it comes down to it, no matter how prepared we try to be, we're only humans, Oliver and this is much bigger than the two of us."

"Chloe, if the Kryptonite is in lead boxes, it's not going to weaken him anyway," he pointed out. "And I'm worried about more than just Clark's safety here. I'm talking about building shelters in various locations around the globe."

[chloeas]

Squinting, she rubbed her hands over her jeans as she got up, nodding, "around the globe, right." She looked at him then started pacing the floor, as she thought about things, "if we can hold of on kryptonite only the ones in Kansas, the second we go code red, we can have Bart supply all the local shelters with it, we should be ready to go everywhere else and I'm sure he will have enough time to get it done, shouldn't take him longer than a couple of minutes." It was a compromise.

It was a compromise, but this was one thing Oliver wasn't willing to compromise on. "And what happens if Bart's out of commission?" he asked, watching her.

"Then we do what we can," she looked down at him, "Oliver, we can't make the state poisonous to him."

"We're not, Chloe." He rose to his feet and moved so he was standing in front of her. "First of all, I'll give Clark the locations of the shelters so he'll know where to avoid. Secondly, they'll be underground anyway, so he'll have no real reason to be there, and third, he grew up in Smallville, which is pretty much the Kryptonite capital of the planet," he pointed out, shaking his head.

Pursing her lips, she considered for a moment then sighed, she knew he wasn't going to back down, but she could be this becoming yet another argument with Clark and that was exactly what she had been trying to avoid, "we'll start building the shelters and gathering the kryptonite, but we will talk to him before we start spreading it around."

He searched her face for a long moment. "All right. I'll talk to him about it," he responded easily, moving back to the sofa and picking up his food once more.

With a nod, she watched him then took a deep breath, "I'm just trying to avoid conflict as much as I can." She explained, still standing.
