Oliver was supposed to be back in Star City by now, but he didn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Not that she was complaining, the thing with her powers had really freaked him out, and honestly, it had freaked her out too

He glanced at her as she stepped into the room, and he muted the volume on his computer before she could hear the music from Tetris playing. "Hey. How was class?" he asked, rising to his feet and shutting off the computer screen.
"Boring. Have I mentioned I hate ethics and that's why I don't plan on having any as a journalist?" She rolled her eyes, setting her purse and laptop bag down on the kitchen table then walking over to the couch, "what were you doing?"
He arched an eyebrow at that. "Right. Chloe Sullivan, the ethic-less journalist. I'll keep that in mind for future reference." He offered her a bright smile. "Just a little work."
"Good. That works out well, then." He studied her for a moment, still gently holding onto her wrist. He looked down, then back up at her, exhaling softly. "We need to talk, Chloe."
With a deep breath, she shrugged a shoulder and nodded, "I know." She knew this was coming and she had given it some thought already, at least, she had a plan.
Oliver watched her for a moment, his arm still wrapped around her. "I just wanted to thank you." His voice was quiet. "For saving my life. I know you didn't realize you could, but still."
Chloe raised her head and turned to look at him, a little surprised, "you don't have to thank me for anything," suddenly she felt the need to be closer to him, remembering how close she was to losing him, "I'm just glad I could."
"I'm so glad you're okay," he whispered, raw sincerity in his eyes as he looked at her. He lifted a hand to her cheek. His chest was tight as he remembered how still and lifeless she'd been before Clark had rushed her to the hospital. He hadn't been that frightened in a very, very long time.
"I'm glad you're okay too," she said quietly, looking up at him, she had never seen him like that morning on the rooftop before, she knew he had been devastated, like she would have been if she thought he was dead too.
After hesitating for a second, she leaned closer and kissed him, she didn't want it to be a romantic gesture, but he looked like he needed the reassurance that she was okay.
"Good question. I don't have a preference. Why don't you pick something?" he suggested, rising to his feet as the elevator alarm sounded. "I'm sure that's the pizza."
Chloe nodded, raising her eyebrows and getting up too, "okay, I'll pick something gory and violent," she smirked a little, there was something comforting about fictional violence when you had just seen one of your best friends bleeding to death, as long as he was okay, of course.
He smirked in return, shaking his head with amusement and heading to the security monitors. Sure enough, it was the pizza delivery woman. He let her in, pulling his wallet out and giving her enough money to cover the pizza, and a large tip, then took the pizza from her and nodded slightly as she left, her eyes slightly wide from the money he'd forked over. Shaking his head a little, he moved over and set the box down on the coffee table.
"What do you want to drink with dinner?" he asked as he headed toward the kitchen.
Looking up at him from where she sat on the floor, in front of the DVD cabinet, she shrugged, "whatever soda we have left?" She knew they had some because she had picked up some just before he got into town.
